I recently bought a Rockler Mini lathe, which I like very much, but it comes with a relatively short tool rest. I got sick and tired of moviing it around pretty quickly. I hesitated to buy a longer rest, as the lathe paperwork doesn't actually specify what size tool rest it uses (this made me paranoid that it was some weird proprietary size). However, when this product came across my radar, I snapped it up, and low-and-behold, it fit just great.The finish on this thing doesn't look perfect, but neither did the finish on the rest that came with the lathe, so I consider that a non-issue.

This tool rest fits very snugly in the holder. It's very solid feeling, but the resting edge is a bit nicky and needs to be filed. Other than that, time will tell how well the edge surface holds up.
