My little brother died in 2003. There is a story about water beetles turning into dragonfly. It's an analogy of people turning into angels when they die. Dragonflies remind my mom of my baby brother and she also loves russian nesting dolls. This gift was perfect.

This is a set of ten dolls. They usually only come in sets of six or seven. They're easy to pull apart and put back together, so kids will have a lot of fun with them. Each one appears to be hand-painted and, because there are so many dolls in this set, the tiniest one is about the size of a button. (See photo). So cute! My three year old granddaughter is goung to love them. Would definitely purchase again!

These are super cute. Obviously handmade and painted. They fit together well and aren’t too hard to pull apart. My daughter might end up breaking one as the smaller ones are quite fragile. Some people have commented that there are only nine dolls but actually there are ten! If you look closely the one that looks smallest actually opens up too and the smallest doll is like a tiny speck. Very cute!

This doll is incredibly sweet and an unbeatable price for what is clearly hand painted. The finish is flat, not semi gloss or gloss, which lends to the handcrafted feel. You can feel the texture of the paint. Not all dolls fit snugly (so the top and bottom part when lifted), but all seams and paint are flawlessly matched. Better to be loose than too snug to pull apart. These dolls are notoriously tricky in that regard -- especially with time and humidity.I purchased this as a gift to a little girl whose mother is dying to help her hold the beauty of the concept of many generations -- older ones passing and new ones yet to arrive. Sadly, her mother is being taken prematurely by cancer. Thank you to the artist who spent so much time crafting this special gift. Your work is treasured.
