I know that this vendor received a lot of bad reviews, but a quick test of these mosfets showed they probably are pretty good. ON resistance met spec, and they withstood brief large surge currents. But I didn't measure thermal resistance, which would be a good indicator of quality (bonding, materials, chip size, etc). For non-critical basement projects, give them a try.

I used one of these on a battery charger circuit for for 12 volt lead acid batteries. I knew I was pushing the limits of the components I was using due to size constraints so I took extra precautions. All components (including these mosfets) were soldered to copper heat sinks and submerged in mineral oil with a circulation pump. Within 3 seconds of powering on at 23 amps output the unit, I assume, went into "thermal run away" and exploded. I figured it was faulty so I replaced it with another one and the same thing happend at 18 amps. Infact I did this a total of 4 times with similar results before I gave up. They work well as long as you stay well under 10amps output and use VERY large heatsinks. I'm using one for a 0.35 amp 12v fan and it seems to work well, although it seems to need more cooling than other similar mosfet units. I will probably order more of these for other projects with the understanding that they are highly over rated.
