As some reviewers mention, the globe is slightly smaller but I haven't found that to affect fitment or functionality. The mantles seem to work, light up brightly, and aren't exceptional brittle or easy to break in comparison to name brand mantles. Overall, there aren't any imperfections in the glass or mantles that I've tried, and it's a really good price!

========================================================================NOTE: Product being reviewed is ASIN B0DMVZ1ZTG, ad entitled: "10-Pack Propane Lantern Mantles with Glass Globe: U-Shape & Standard Replacement Parts for Camping Lanterns. Clear Lantern Globe Compatible with Coleman Fuel Lanterns" Price at the time of my order was $15.89, with no coupons available. I received the product at no cost for review via the Vine program.========================================================================This combo pack seems to be a reasonable value for the dollar: For $16, you get a common Coleman globe -- similar, though not identical, to what is sometimes referred to as "Globe 4", which fits (at least) most of the Coleman 5000-series propane lanterns -- plus ten mantles. (For reference, as I write this, the W*lmart website has the OEM Coleman Globe 4 listed for $21.47, product ID 13848717).Since I just finished writing a review of what appears to be an identical globe available on Amazon (ASIN B0DK9DSLCH), I'll concentrate here on some quick A-B tests I ran on the mantles, comparing the mantles from this kit -- which are non-thoriated -- vs. some older Coleman thoriated Silk-Lite mantles I happen to have around. The "test animal" for this comparison was a 1997 Coleman 5154 propane lantern which had a pair of old thoriated Silk-Lite mantles still installed from last time it was used, several years ago. (Thoriation was verified via geiger counter). So I replaced one of the Silk-Lites with a mantle from this kit, then burned it in for about half an hour. How did they compare, side by side in the same lantern under identical conditions?Welp, the main difference -- which was always the selling point for the thoriated products -- is that the light spectrum from the thoriated mantle is noticeably whiter than the somewhat orange-yellowish spectrum of the non-thoriated mantle from this kit. It's not a subtle difference; it is most definitely noticeable when compared side-by-side. You can instantly tell which one is thoriated just by the color difference. As to overall light intensity comparison: Unfortunately, I do not have a working lumen meter at this moment to fairly compare them, but by eye they seem similar, although the Silk-Lite was at a significant age disadvantage; I'm pretty sure that mantle was purchased more than 25 years ago.Size-wise, they fit fine in my 5154 unit, although perhaps about 1/2" longer (after burn-in) than the Silk-Lites. But still plenty of clearance to the bottom surface of the lantern, so not a problem.Lifetime- and durability-wise, of course nothing I can say yet, having used only one of them for 45 minutes or so for the purpose of this review. In any case, since there were no obvious issues and the ad seems to be honest and accurate, and the price is reasonable, giving it five stars.

Mantles are fine. Glass globe does not fit the model of my lantern that was represented. Should’ve measured it myself before ordering. Figured though if it stated it fit my model, it would fit. Double ck yours before ordering from them.

My old Coleman 285A Dual Fuel lanterns globe cracked and, while I am not sure if the 285A (discontinued) and the 285 use the same parts. I needed a new globe, so I took the chance. At the current price of 14.99, including 10 replacement mantles I think this is a very good deal. However, measure your lantern base and compare it to this globes specifications before deciding. My old lantern globe had a diameter of 4.4-inches while this globes diameter is 4.12. This is just over 1/4-inch difference (1/8-inch gap around the base). Its possible my 285A is different from a 285 (newer model?) and, to be honest, for me, this is not a deal breaker. Even though the globe is a bit smaller in diameter, it still works and finally, I can now use my old lantern again. The included 10 mantles are the right size and, the material appears to be as good as OEM mantles so, overall, for the price of 10 OEM mantles I received a globe that works and 10 spare mantles. Quite reasonable.
