These were a cheap alternative for my wife when she started her felting hobby. They were much more cost effective buying from Amazon than buying them from Marshall’s or other craft stores. The needles were strong and still last. We still have some leftover from all the cat toys she has felted.

After searching here and elsewhere, these needles were the right length, & gauge, to replace broken ones in my felting tool. Furthermore, they were the best price I could find anywhere for that quantity of needles.It was, however, difficult to get them out of the container as the neck of the plastic bottle was quite narrow. In addition, they were placed with the pointy ends facing up, preventing you from just shaking out as the wider end was at the bottom of the container. I was finally able to remove the number of needles required with the use of fine tweezers.Lastly, each one was coated with what appeared to be some type of oil. I can only assume this was to keep them from rusting, but I was worried about it coming off on my project the way it soiled my hands.With the number of needles I received, I don't see myself needing to purchase more in the near, or foreseeable future!

I was looking for 42 gauge but this only says how long it is and 40 happens to be the same length as 42, so that information is utterly useless. How hard is it to tell the gauge? I had such a hard time finding what I needed and was so happy when I found these, only to figure out later that they weren't the size I thought. At that point it was too late to return my other kit which didn't have the size I needed (making this seperate purchase necessary), apparently I can't buy only 42 gauge needles for a reasonable price, so I then had to find another kit that included them making my other kit completely redundant, but it was too late to return it at that point. I'm sure they're perfectly good needles and they're a fantastic price, just tell people what size they are!

It’s as pictured exactly what I needed but comes from overseas so takes a long time to arrive. If it’s time sensitive commission work, maybe check for a more local option.

Used for a felting project with 250 kids over 5 days. They worked great! Only a few broke but pretty sure it was how the needles were being used, not the quality.

* These felting needles came covered in oil, which is fine. I know it’s to prevent rust. It would have been nice to have a heads up though. It was unexpected.* The needles themselves are weak. They bend out of shape easily and break often.* The last issue is with the tips. There were quite a few needles that were completely dull. I mean, not-able-to-pop-a-balloon dull.
