These are genuine Taiyo-Yuden TYG03 DVD-Rs with white (printable) tops. I was skeptical at first but bought a spindle and it's true. I test all burnable media that I buy and these came through with flying colors.I switched to TYG03s a long time ago after getting fedup making badly burned DVD-Rs from other manufacturers. I don't like the TY silver top type which are the same media but are fingerprint magnets and buy the white tops like these instead. I was not aware that LEGEND with PRO/Japan Disc Corp were selling these, and instead have been paying quite a bit more for another "branded" source that are basically the same thing.These are an incredible deal for the $, are packed wrapped in bubblewrap inside of a perfectly sized shipping box (if ordering from 1 Stop Outlet's Amazon storefront) with FREE shipping. What's not to love?UPDATE FROM FEB 2025:After going through 5 sets of discs over several months with only about 5 total bad discs I just started using discs from an order I placed in January and looks like I got a bad spindle (er set - these do not come on a spindle, they are just wrapped and I then store them on a spindle to use them). Of the first 15 discs from this set that I burned only 2 were usable. 13 tested badly (even after using different burners to create them).Over the years I've seen this kind of thing occasionally happen even with these reliable TYG03s. Stuff happens - whether badly made in the first place at the factory or degraded later in storage, mishandled in shipping, or perhaps these sitting out on my front porch in 15-20 degree weather overnight could even be the cause (I did not know they were out there waiting to be picked up until I stumbled over the package the next morning!).Regardless I just ordered another set, hoping for better results. I will continue to go through this set since sometimes only a portion might be affected like this but I need a fresh set in the meantime I can (hopefully) count on.

I do not believe these discs are legit. Besides the cellophane packing they could be made by anybody. I have experienced up to a 25% failure rate. Won't buy again.

First of all, the quality of these disks, is exceptional. I have been using these guys over the past year or so, and I will continue to buy them until the free world ends. I have NEVER had a customer complaint, or a bad disk.My only problem, was that some of them would always get damaged in shipping. I brought that fact up in a review a few months ago. I must say, that someone is listening to the customers and reading the reviews. The quality of the product, and the extra care in packing and shipping has really paid off. They stepped it up and fixed that problem.I have nothing but nice things to say about this company! They stand out above all their peers.Thank you for a great product.

Highly recommend. Professionally I've gone through well over 3000 of these DVDs and have never ended up with a coaster...unlike many other brands I tried. Decades later, none of the discs have failed. Now retired, the last batch was bought in 2021 and the quality was the same, so the switch to different ownership/manufacturing did not impact quality. I buy the white ones primarily for ease of labeling. I don't print labels on the white surface. Yes, you need your own spindle to store them...I happen to have LOTS in all different capacities, so no issue for me. If you open the top of the wrapper carefully, and select from the top, you should be OK without a spindle.
