Loved this kit. Came with most stuff needed and everything to start our recipe for blueberry wine. Loved the selection of recipes and that it came with all chemicals needed. Our yeast worked great. Took about three days to really start brewing. But I always check my yeast before I dump it in to make sure it foams with warm water and sugar before I dump it in to the full brew. Mine was excellent and nothing was out of date like other reviews I read. I wonder if they allowed a couple days to insure it had colonized the brew after adding. But I believe this kit to be a great value. I have purchased more expensive kits in the past and am more pleased with this one. All the essentials to do any wine brew you choose from what I can tell l. Love it. Thanks bunches.

Bought this kit to start a new hobby with my son. This is a great kit and will recommend to anyone looking to get into the hobby. only a few things i found were with the description of the items included with kit,listed below.For the cost of the kit I can overlook the few dislikes due to the quality of everything i received in the boxPros; Alot of items are is included in the kit you will need to get started. great variety of recipes included with easy to follow instructions.Cons; it states "enough additives to make up to 15 gallons of wine" but the recipes call for 1 package of yeast to be used and only 3 are included not a deal killer but enough to make the listed 15 gallons would have been nice.Also no hydrometer is included and after watching multiple videos and speaking with people who brew one is necessary so you know when to make the next step more accurately and to know the alcohol content of the wine. The bucket lid does not seem to seal real great so to be on the safe side I wrapped the top with shrink wrap and tape to be sure it sealed.

I just received this kit today and was happily surprised with the quality of the items in the kit. For the price, I wasn't expecting too much so I consider this a great deal as it is very affordable. I have been making wine in 6 gallon batches for years but wanted to experiment a little with different types of wines so a smaller 1 gallon kit is perfect for that (in case I make a bad batch, not much is wasted) The kit has everything you'll need to make multiple batches including 3 packages of yeast. All of the yeast I received in this kit is fresh based on the date stamp and this is important as old or expired yeast is one of the complaints I read about in other kits like this. All in all, there are a ton of good recipes included and everything I need to get started is included except the fruit and a hydrometer which I already had. If you don't have one, order one at the same time so you can get started right away.

Good idea. Cheap buckets. Lids don't fit, not even close so cannot even keep debris out. Had to buy a home depot 2 gallon lid and add a grommet hole which fit just fine.other than that cheapskate thing that they obviously knew about it is a good kit. Obvious I'm why the price is low though.

I bought this as a birthday gift for my fiance thinking it would be perfect for her to try and make her own wine. It says right in the description that it comes with everything needed to make your own wine at home (all except the fruit, bottles, and corks). So she starts reading the booklet and there aren't any "easy" instructions to be found. As a complete kit you wouldn't think there would be any more pieces that we would have to buy. She starts watching videos on how to make wine and it turns out that I still have to buy a hydrometer, primary and a glass secondary. So why is this called a complete kit? It is a blatant lie and false advertising. I'm just glad nothing was damaged as many of the other comments on this product say most things come broken. I would not reccomend buying this product to anyone. You are much better going to a store and talking to someone so you can actually get all the required materials. This gets a 1 out of 100 in my opinion. DO NOT BUY!

They sent two, both had cracked air locks , didn’t bother sending back the second as I was disgusted at that point. Siphon tube snapped on first insertion into bucket lid, does not contain all needed ingredients and equipment and the instructions in the recipe book are very vague.

Well, it is a nice kit and worth the money, but IT DOES NOT COME WITH EVERYTHING YOU NEED!! The item description is inaccurate as it says that it comes with everything you need to make wine except for the fruit, corks, and bottles. This is just not true. You NEED ENERGIZER!!! Especially with the brand of wine yeast that they provide, you need wine energizer or your wine will turn out a disaster and end up smelling like rotten eggs. Wine energizer is right there in the ingredient book they provide as an essential ingredient in nearly every single fruit wine recipe. Why then did they not provide this?? This was very frustrating to me because I had everything ready to go and then discovered that wine energizer was needed. (It also needs sugar and water, but most people already have those so that is no big deal, but they should have mentioned that they also do not include those.)If the description is going to advertise that the kit includes everything you need to make 1 gallon of fruit wine, they really, REALLY ought to include EVERYTHING YOU NEED. It also is lacking another important tool: A hydrometer. I suppose theoretically it is possible to make the wine without it, but you would be taking a guess for when the wine is ready if you don't have one.

I had never made wine and didn't have any equipment. This kit has everything you need to make a gallon of wine including a recipe book. I ran into a little trouble with the first siphon, called the 800 number and a very nice man very patiently helped me learn how to do it. The mesh bag included is great to put the fruit in before mashing, then makes it easy to lift the fruit out after the first fermentation period. My only suggestion is to buy an auto-siphon (available on Amazon). It is a lot better than the one included with the kit and makes siphoning really easy. The plastic tubing that came in the kit fit the auto-siphon I bought so you don't have to buy extra tubing. Recommend this kit as good quality and well priced to anyone wanting to learn the basics of winemaking.
