As a functionality to hold a water - it works of course, however the main reason why I chose to buy these was an amber color thinking it’s a true amber glass however, this glass has been stained and over the time - the stain faded away or was scratched… I would not purchase these if I knew this. I’m not sure what leaks to the water and how safe these are.

Not really brown glass just stained on the inside just had to dump out 6 gallons of cider because the stain came off inside the bottle contaminating and ruining my whole batch definitely a rip off

This is represented as "amber glass" but it should be called "amber-coated clear glass" this coating can be scratched off. Not true amber glass. This coating is probably plastic or polymer based so this defeats the entire purpose of "non-reactive" glass and UV protection of amber glass "Keeping oils in plastic containers is also a bad idea because some oils will leach if the plastic breaks down. Amber glass is ideal for storing essential oils because it is both protective and non-reactive." In other words, this plastic brown coating on the glass will probably leech into whatever you store in these, ruining your product. I would not and cannot recommend this item, and would encourage you to look elsewhere for true, non-reactive, uv-protective amber glass.
