I ordered one of these and installed it on my Type 1 1600 Dual Port motor (all stock). The oil pressure light came on as it should when I turned the key on, it went off when I started the engine, and the light never came back on again (it should once you turn the engine off and turn the key to accessory). I figured it was a faulty switch, and I returned it. They responded quickly and sent me a new one at no charge. Unfortunately, the same thing happened with the new part. I almost gave up, thinking I had an oil pressure problem with the engine, but decided to order an oil pressure switch from a VW supply (JBUGS), and they sent one out (it had white plastic instead of black like this one). It worked immediately, and continues to work perfectly. So I got two of these oil pressure switches that were bad...not the best track record. The good news is the problem was a ten dollar part, not a major problem with the engine!

Removed the old mechanical oil pressure gauge, replaced it with this one to control the oil pressure light.
