When I was tightening the screw to get it anchored in place, the prongs on the part that sits on the exposed side of the wall broke off. This happened on two of the anchors. I was installing them on thin luan board in a camper. On the second try I held the part in place by putting a screwdriver in one of the insets while tightening the screw. It was a real pain, but it worked. Once in place they seem sturdy enough, but installing them was a pain in the butt.

The anchors installed easily. However you do need to push them all the way into the door and keep from letting them spin while tightening the screws to lock them into the door. Just takes pushing on them lighlty so the to pentrating lock spikes do not twist while you tighten them initially to set them. I which they came though is at least 3/16" screw size instead of the 1/8" screws which felt light weight for a heavy rack. So I use 5 screws in each rack track you see in my picture. The only anchors I found that I felt tighten up adequatly on the thin skin of the hollow core doors.

I had mounted wire shelves to my pantry door with wood screws. When the shelves were full and slamming the door the shelf came loose. I put these anchors in the door and now I am confident that the shelves are secure.

Advertised as steel; but they twist like aluminum. I tried 4 of these and only one tried to hold. The screws stripped on the other 3.

Carefully measure and drill a hole just slightly under the size of the anchor. Push it gently into the deepest part of the door. Hold in place with a needle-nose plyers so it doesn't spin (Doors are very hard, so the anti-slip portion does not work well) Tighten into place, then remove and put the holder in place. I've done a number of them in our house. Works great.

These are the only thing I've found for mounting heavier things in my RV, and they usually work great. I've had trouble finding them in the hardware stores lately and ordered these. 3 of the first 7 I used had issues. One wouldn't tighten/grab, and the other 2 broke off in the wall when I was putting the bolt back in (the part that compresses to hold onto the wall). I now recognize the sound it makes before the piece breaks off and I'm pretty sure 2 more will break if I remove the bolt and put it back in. So, they work, but order extra, because they don't ALL work.

Great product for RV Camper walls that are at least 1.5" or greater thickness. I wish they came in larger fastener sizes like #8 and #10 screw size. Many people asking about the actual length, so I am posting this picture that includes a scale.
