This greatly reduces or in most cases eliminates tube rattle. These are also great for reducing mechanical noise in Hifi amps. The large “EuroDamper” rings measure 1.100” (27.94mm) inside diameter for a snug fit on EL34, KT77, 6L6, 6L6GC, 5881 power tubes and 5AR4, GZ34, 5U4 and 5Y3 rectifier tubes. The OD measures 1.80” (45.72mm) and the thickness measures .375” (9.25mm). These are also available in a smaller size for preamp tubes such as 12AX7, 12AU7, 12AT7, etc and EL84 and EL844 power tubes.

I had a horrible experience with power tube rattle in the past on a Deluxe Reverb Reissue. Nothing would make that tube rattle stop, and I'm convinced it was mostly due to the DRRI construction. Fast forward to now, and I have a Mesa TC-50 combo that was getting some slight rattling on a d only. It wasn't horrible, but it was mildly annoying. I ordered these, and they fit perfectly. No more tube rattle no matter how loud I play or how high I turn up the bass EQ. This may or may not fix your problem, but it fixed mine.

Unlike the skinnier rings sold on e*ay, these actually do a fair job of supressing the microphonics of my 6080 and 6AS7 power tubes that have that problem. They do have a slightly noxious smell for a few hours, but only if you get close. They don’t stretch much, so make sure you order the correct size.

I think whether you hear a difference or not depends a lot on the tubes in your system and it's overall design and quality. I can imagine I hear a subtle difference but my tubes weren't microphonic so I didn't notice much of a change in audio...Maybe the background is ever so slightly quieter, but that's hard to say. Still it looks good and could probably make an improvement in some systems. For the price, I'd say it's worthwhile.

The product is well made and durable. I used them on the Tung Sol 6l6 STR tubes and it was a bit of a chore to get them to fit. I would recommend lubing the inner diameter of the rings with some water to aid it in sliding onto the tube—otherwise a great product!

I can't really recommend this product or say you shouldn't try it. I have a boutique tube amplifier that was producing a lot of rattle with the tubes, even on low volume. It was especially bad when I played the key of B, I noticed, anywhere on the guitar. So, I gave these a go, despite the naysayers who scoff at the idea of putting a rubber ring on tubes. I was desperate, and it was cheap enough to try. When I put them on, I was really happy, and surprised honestly because I was prepared for them not to work. I played around in the key of B and most of the rattle was gone...but then I realized that now the key of A produced the dreaded rattle. Sigh. So, I purchased a new pair of tubes, and that did the trick. They still rattle some, but WAY less than they did before. All of that to say that I guess these are worth a try if you're having a rattle issue, but if you can afford to swap out the rattling tubes for a new pair, that's probably your best bet. I can't say anything about whether these rings help with microphonics, as that's not what I was experiencing with my rig.

these are the best of all the different variations I have tried and most did absolutely nothing. I did find they worked best in a different position on the tube than recommended (best on center, not over the mica), so move them up or down until you get the least noise - you will know when you hit the spot! These allowed output tubes that had a rattle so bad that could not be used in combo amps, but with these work great without the noise. I have now used on a few amps all solved the problem. Again the only device that has worked so I can see why others say tube dampers do not work - well they have not used these IMHO.

I got these for my Fender Bassman 59 reissue. I was noticing a lot of rattle from the 6L6 tubes and I searched for remedies for it and found this item. Well worth it. It works. This amp is really loud and can have the house rattling but the 6L6 tubes are silent. They have great customer service. I asked about putting them on and they gave me a great tip. You have to stretch the band out before ton work it on the end of the tube. But once they are on you can slide them really easy up and down the glass tube.

I ordered these Tube Damper rings to use on my EL34 tubes inside my DSL40C, and it worked out perfectly! There used to be an annoying rattling noise coming from the amp whenever I played a chord and it bothered me so much. These tube dampers really do work and it got rid of the annoying noise. It makes the amp sound way better. Definitely would recommend these to anyone experiencing similar problems with their combo amp.
