Your cart is empty.What is a Dovetail Mount? A Dovetail Mount is used to attach accessories to your Seestar. Those include a Red Dot Finder Scope, additional cameras, or anything with a Dovetail Style Mount. To use, simply place the Dovetail Pro onto your Seestar. Now install your accessory onto the Dovetail Mount and your set! Our Dovetail Mount is Custom 3D designed and printed using ABS. ABS is known to be very strong and resilient to temperature changes. ABS is also used in other applications including Toy Building Bricks, Sports Equipment and Automotive components This does not include the telescope. This only includes the Dovetail Pro. When you are finished with your viewing session, remember to always remove the Dovetail Mount prior to powering down your telescope. Never power down with it attached! *This only includes (1) Dovetail Pro, it does not include the Telescope. *This is a telescope accessory.

This works! It's necessary to position this adapter so that the dovetail (Vixen/Synta) shoe is outboard rather than "dorsal." I use it to hold a 23cm helical antenna for satellite communications. I have even stowed the "arm" with this accessory in place (have to ensure that it is fully pushed in to the aperture). The dovetail itself if a bit flimsy; it'll hold an antenna but might have problems holding optics.

The 3D Dovetail Pro - for Seastar S50was a little difficult to insert into the S50 lens opening. The bracket seems to fit the contour my Seestar adequately, but, not perfectly. I will learn how well my finder is aligned once I test it. In any case, it is an improvement over relying on the internal compass for daytime astronomy. The Dovetail Pro folds to fit in the Seestar case, which was an unexpected surprise.•The 2” filter threads prevent me from using the stock Seestar solar filter. The ICE ND 100,000 is an relatively inexpensive 2” solar filter.•I only intend to use featherweight finders on my Seestar for daytime solar and lunar observation.•I will definitely remove the Dovetail Pro before closing the SeeStar arm. I would never leave the Dovetail Pro on while the Seestar is untended. It might jam or break the Seestar if the arm automatically closes.
