This sand sucks and you get less. 20lbs sand at petsmart $19.99.Petsmart sand seems to handle absorbing moisture and odors better too.

Gerbil and hamster bath sand is waaaay too expensive. Chinchilla bath sand is too fine. Play sand needs to be cooked. Reptile sand almost always has calcium, or weird grain texture. Not this one!!!Calcium free (one of very very few I could find). Reasonably priced. Pet safe (eg no cooking or sanitizing necessary). Perfect grain size for not getting cuts while bathing nor inhalation. My gerbils love it. My last gerbil loved it, and so did his brotherMy new boys-Fred and George- were neglected by Petco. If they had been even mildly better situation i wouldnt have bought from pet store and wouldve adopted. They had never seen sand. They instantly loved it. They roll it it. Sit and eat dinner in it. Potty in it. Dig. Just have fun. I took out their sand bath for 24h a few days ago because im making them a new sand bath tub (the old one is cute but got sand on my floor) and they immediately showed textbook rodent stress behaviors, became much more skiddish, etc until i just caved and gave them the old one back (new bath tub is still in the works)- simply not having sand made them both panic. In other words- this is amazing sand. My only complaint: the gerbils kick it on my floor and I have permanent beach-bed

I actually use this for my gerbil sand bath. With gerbils it is highly not recommended that you use bathing powder because they can aspirate it and it can give them respiratory infections. So it's actually recommended that you use this naturally white colored rectus sand for their bath. So I switched out to the rectus sand for their bath and they absolutely love it. I'm changing it out every two days because they not only use it as their bath but they also use it as a bathroom. Which is fine. It is what it is. They're gerbils that's their natural thing to do. But I do highly recommend this for using it as gerbils sand bath.

this sand is super soft, always clean, & my hamsters love using it to bathe :3 it's the only sand i will use for them & i always rebuy. it's a little expensive but the quality is better than other sands. it lasts me a long time even having two hamsters. 5/5 stars recommend to all my besties !!😇😇😇

We use this sand for our dwarf hamster and she loves it. Saves us a lot of money as the "hamster sand" is much more expensive. As long as your reptile sand is without added calcium or dyes, it is perfectly safe for hamsters.

I use this for hamster litter boxes. It clumps well so you know when to replace it, but it also sticks to the container when it's wet, so it takes extra effort to clean. 5 stars for price (compared to alternatives) but only 3 stars for function.

Nice color my beard definitely likes it more just didn't realize a 20 lb bag wouldn't even be enough for a 50 gallon tank definitely needs 2 bags wish there was something to tell you suggested what you'd need for different sizes

I use this as a sand bath for my dwarf hamster, I used to bake it at a high temperature but then when my oven broke I didn't do that anymore. Dudu is still healthy and happy and going strong at 3 years old!
