My pool cleaner was continually getting stuck under the pool ladder. This guard was easy to install and it keeps my pool cleaner from getting behind the ladder and it was reasonably priced.

Due to the orientation of the connection My Polaris pressure side sweeper would primarily get stuck in one side of my ladder. This kit worked to cover the one side and the instances of my Polaris getting stuck have reduced to almost never. If it tended to get caught in more sides it would have required more kits but the results are so good I would have spent the extra money.

Assembly in a cold pool requires some planning. I suggest you use duct tape or similar to pre-assemble. Put the screw in the slot and cover with tape and slit the tape lengthwise. That way your screwdriver will have access to the screw without the screw falling to the bottom of the pool.

I have a solar powered skimmer that floats around the pool and cleans the surface, it would regularly get stuck at the pool ladder or at the stairs beneath the hand rail. These guards act as deflectors and keep the skimmer working so that I do not.

I got these as an attempt to solve a problem and they work perfectly.I have an in-ground pool that does not have a ladder, but the Polaris pool cleaner continually hung on its own pressure hose where it comes from the wall of the pool. I could not come up with anything that I tried that would keep it from happening, and could not find anything online made especially for that purpose. So since these are made to keep that from happening on the edges of a ladder I thought it would be worth "the risk" of buying them and seeing if they might work.One helpful note if you get these for the same purpose: The pressure hose is smaller in diameter than the metal pipes on a pool ladder, so at first it will not tighten properly around the hose. However, I used slightly longer screws (two regular sheet metal screws I already had, about 1/2 inch longer) and tightened them over hose floats that were already around the hose) and they fit perfectly.I used them both on the same side of the hose because the Polaris only got stuck coming from one side. They could easily be put on with one on each side and still work. It no longer gets stuck on the hose at all, and the hose is just as easy to remove using the quick-disconnect as it was before. I could not be happier with the result.
