I found it difficult to get the correct shapes formed. Doesn’t tell you measurements of anything, just has pictures of what it’s suppose to look like.

It's hard to argue with the cuteness of a Highland Cow. I don't know why, but those dudes are just cool animals- so you have a fun goal to work toward as you learn how to felt. My kids knew how to crochet, so they have some dexterity in this arena, and that's all they needed to easily get going with this kit and its instructions. It's a simple little skill that produces cute results without too much effort. This kit had everything they needed to get started- now we just need to get more wool, and we can make other things with the tools we have now!

To be clear, I'm writing this review before I've actually used the kit - I'm reviewing based on the instructions only.For a kit marked as safe for beginners, it falls seriously short in the way of instructions. The instruction book has lovely pictures, but they're not helpful, aside from showing what each component should look like when finished.Instructions like "take an appropriate amount of wool" (which is repeated throughout) are pretty useless. What's appropriate? Half a bag? Less? More? Who knows.The instructions state to "repeatedly compare the 1:1 scale on the instruction paper." Compare with what? No measurements are provided anywhere in the instruction book.I'd hoped that the associated YouTube video would shed some light. Nope. There are no spoken instructions - you just watch a person make the cows.The kit is really well-priced, but I would happily pay a few more dollars for better instructions.I'm hoping that once I sit down and try to make the cows, using both the booklet and video, things will start to make sense, because the finished product looks too adorable for words.

I am happy with the felting kit that I received. The supplies look just like the product photos and were what i was expecting. The wool is easy to pull apart from the rolls and stabbing it with the needles causes it to firm up as expected. I love cows and couldn't resist this kit. It is super cute and fun.I like the felting pad in the kit. Usually kits give you a piece of foam to use as a working pad, but this kit gives a fabric pad. It is a good size and easy to work with.

Felting is not something I have done and this set has everything you need to give it a try without purchasing a lot of expensive tools separately. To be honest, I am very crafty and after watching the video that is included with the purchase, I’m intimidated.The instructions say to take ann anppropriate amount. How much is that?!The color to grab is light yellowish brown, the bag I think it is doesn’t look to have enough for four cows. I’m not sure what to use. See photo.I should have started with ghosts not cute cows.
