What is it?
This is an adapter,allows you to record to an external SSD(Solid State Drive) module instead of the CFexpress Type B Card.
This adapter can be put into the camera card slot just like a CFexpress Type B card.
Hence,you need to know clearly that ZITAY CFexpress Type B Card to NVME M.2 2230 SSD Adapter is just an adapter.
This adapter doesn't come with a SSD(Solid State Drive) and you need to source it by yourself.
Why should I buy your product?
Cost Saving.
Cost of 1TB CFexpress type B card VS Cost of 1TB M.2 2230 SSD
What NVME SSD drives are recommended?
Recommend use the Kioxia(Toshiba) 1TB BG4 / 1TB SK Hynix BC711 (firmware version must be 41000C20)NVMe M.2 2230 30mm
We can not confirm other NVMe M.2 2230 will work or not.
How fast should my SSD read and write?
It depends on your NVME M.2 SSD drive and your CFexpress Type B card reader.Our adapter support write speeds up to 1200MB/s and read speeds up to 1800MB/s.
What you get:
1x CFexpress Type B Card to SSD Adapter;

2x tiny screws;
1x tiny screwdriver;
3x sticky notes

works in my z6iii but doesn’t hit even close to the max theoretical bandwidth that is advertised. using this with a CFexpress reader capable of 1700MB/s read, connected to a USB4 40gbps port, with M.2 SSD capable of 5GB/s, and i get about 900 MB/s read/write with this. totally fine for my camera but stars removed for false advertising

I have tried two M.2 drives with this unit, Adata 2tb gen4 and Corsair MP600 M.2 Gen4 both error out in recording quickly with buffer overflow msg that locks the camera up. 4k120, 4k60 dont waste your money.

Product arrived and was made to the standard required to use inside My Nikon cameras. Put a 1TB m.2 memory card inside as instructed and it works reliable and at impresdive r/w speeds.

Just saved a lot of money and gave me a lot more versatility by using a 2230 NVMe SSD. Works with no issue and it is very fast, not sure if as fast as a dedicated memory card, but enough for my Lumix S1R.

This adapter is physically and electrically excellent -- the problem comes from compatibility between the SSD and the camera -- the Z6 seems particularly picky.I found it surprisingly difficult to purchase the recommended SSDs ("Kioxia BG4 or SK Hynix BC711 with firmware 41000C20") -- most Amazon sellers are selling the BC711 with a different firmware, and when I ordered a BG4, I got a BG5 instead.The BG5 only kinda works: every few dozen photos, the camera errors "Cannot access this memory card. Insert another card." and refuses to take photos until you eject and reinsert the card.For a while, I gave up on this adapter and just used the least-overpriced XQD card I could find. Recently I decided I needed a bigger memory card, but didn't want to get ripped off. It was cheaper to buy 3 more 256GB SSDs to test with this adapter than it was to buy a single 64GB XQD card.My test results are as follows:Works fully with Z6, no issues found yet:- Western Digital PC SN530 256G (careful not to get the "CH SN530" -- I've read that that one does not work)Almost works with the Z6:- Kioxia BG5 256G (errors periodically, as described above)- Samsung PM991a 256G: I haven't run into any errors while taking photos, but it gets "recording interrupted" errors while recording 4k30 video.Does not work with Z6:- Western Digital PC SN740 256G (Camera locks up while trying to format. My Mac is also unable to format this card through this adapter and a cheap USB CFExpress reader.)

Was a little skeptical at first but decided to pull the trigger and try it out with my canon r5c. Bought two and got the corsair mp600 mini 1TB (not "core") exactly as zitay recommends for the r5c and it works great. Shot 3 weddings so far on them on Raw 8k 60fps and 30fps with no problem and no buffering issues. Heat dissipates much better than my Angelbird cards because of the full metal construction and good thermal paste.

I bought two of these, and assembled 2 TB CFexpress cards for under $200 each with brand name NVMe drives. That's significantly less than most quality 1 TB CFexpress cards at the time of this review, and I'm getting the same performance as 2 TB CFexpress cards that are currently more than double the price.I tried one of these in a Canon EOS R5 and literally could not get it to buffer when shooting full quality uncompressed RAW because the drive is so fast. Shoots 8K video with no problems as well.There are some pretty tiny screws, but not tough to assemble. Took me just a couple of minutes. I'd recommend thermal paste just to be safe. Highly recommend these!

This is a useful converter that’s practical, easy to connect as it just slides in to the camera’s CF slot, and works as it’s supposed to, allowing the greater storage capacity and reliability of an SSD to be used instead of a card. However, the flapping design is a bit cumbersome and the cable belt fairly inflexible - I find this awkward to hold and am not keen on it just dangling and bumping about. It is also a bit of a concern having to leave the card storage cover open and unprotected in order to use this. The almost £90 price point seems rather high for a converter alone, particularly one produced by a not very (not at all?) recognisable company.

I decided to experiment a little with doing a DIY CFExpress card. The Zitay enclosure is a step above any of the other ones I've tried - from early MakerFab enclosures to Sintech enclosures; the first one looks like a science experiment, while the 2nd one was a little snug in my Z9.The Zitay, on the other hand, comes with pre-printed labels (only up to 1TB - c'mon Zitay, make 2TB labels too, please :) ), is precisely machined, has an indentation for the pre-printed labels so the card does not become too thick with the label on it, and teeny tiny little screws that fit perfectly. The kit comes with a screwdriver, thermal paste, and thermal pads.Together with an M.2 2230 NVMe, it's all of 5 minutes to assemble this, put it in your camera, and format it. Once done, it works perfectly.Your performance will vary depending on the SSD used. I have a Nikon Z9, Z8 and Z7. Slower PCIe 3.0 SSDs work beautifully in the Z7, but are unable to cope with the highest demands of the Z8 and Z9 (i.e., 4Kp60 N-RAW N-Log HIGH quality video) due to their too slow write speed.However, a PCIe 4.0 SSD such as the SABRENT Rocket NVMe series - available in sizes ranging from 128Gb to 2TB - works perfectly in all cameras, and allows you to record 4Kp60 N-RAW N-Log HIGH quality video. This, IMO, is a winning combination.Subsequent to my first purchase, I have bought 3 more enclosures, and have 2 x 512Gb cards, 1 x 1TB card and 1 x 2TB card, the latter 2 of which are the SABRENT.If you're a DIYer and understand that the bus architecture of CFExpress is essentially the same as that of an NVMe SSD, you'll know that the circuitry is simply a form factor adapter, and therefore highly reliable.This earns a very highly recommended rating from me.

It's hard to convince me now why I should ever buy expensive CFexpress Type B Cards when this passive adapter converts conventional SSD to the mentioned format. There's no chip inside - just simple wiring. I tried to run 1.6Gbit ProRes recording on my GH6 for 10 minutes. Everything was fine. Huge files weren't corrupted. I use this adapter with SABRENT Rocket 2230 NVMe 4.0 1TB. And the adapter wasn't too hot after recording, it was lukewarm so I could easily hold it. I applied thermal paste (my own thermal paste, because there wasn't any inside the set) on both sides of SSD as it's recommended on their official YouTube installation video. So far so good. I hope it will work perfectly and will last long.
