The combination of top articulation and bottom spread provides excellent stick articulation. It features a slightly lower profile than the Medium Thin Low, resulting in a darker sound with more wash, at a lower fundamental pitch.

I played on and later purchased this Zildjian 20” Constantinople low ride. The cymbal I selected has a wonderful lower pitched ping with a well controlled broad wash. It also has a responsive crash. I highly recommend it for ensemble jazz. It blends well and does not overpower the band. There can be significant differences between different copies of this cymbal. I highly recommend picking one from a local provider so you can compare and contrast variations.

This is an incredible cymbal with a pleasingly low pitch, and a beautiful balance between stick articulation and wash. The bell isn't the most pronounced I've seen, but projects nicely with a beautiful chime. Despite the large size (22") and weight (mine is just over 2500 g), this cymbal also crashes easily with a big 'bwooosh'. While I've never owned another K Con, I have had a few Keropes in the past. I would say this cymbal has the benefits of my favourite Keropes, while having a better bell, projection and a higher volume threshold. While this cymbal rewards quieter playing, it doesn't seem to wash out at louder volumes like the Keropes did. While I haven't had the chance to use this in a band setting yet, I can already tell that it will cut through far better than those Keropes, nice as they are.The bottom line here is that I have no critique of the cymbal itself. Amazon's prices fluctuate wildly though, and I managed to get this for hundreds less than the current list price. It may pay to be patient and check back often, especially when stock is low. The other critique I have (of Amazon, not the cymbal) is that the cymbal was shipped in an over-sized box, with zero padding or protection. Thankfully it arrived unscathed, but others may not be so lucky. This is an incredible cymbal that most drummers would be thrilled to play, but getting it from Amazon is a calculated risk. For me, that risk paid off big time, but your mileage may vary.

This cymbal is prized among pros for its sound, which has helped define jazz drumming for decades. With the proper wood sticks, you get amazing stick articulation with just enough warm "wash" and sustain. The somewhat lower, darker tone of the "low" K const is ideal for small trios/ensembles. An added bonus: The bell has a robust ping and you don't have to work hard to pull out its chime. The quality of the sound is worth every penny. It is my #1 ride for small, delicate and sometimes fast ensemble work. If you are in a larger swing band, I might recommend the K const "high" which may cut better through the loud brass chorus.

Real nice articulation and clarity even while playing fast patterns. Beautiful spread and sustain when crashed. You could use it for rock, but I really think its voice is geared towards jazz. It sounds awesome now. Can't wait to see how it sounds in 20 years.
