I needed these for an old Chevy truck to hold the upper and lower radiator shrouds together. They work perfectly.

Used to replace rusted clips holding car door panels in place. They are stronger and better made than the originals

The fasteners have a nice finish, and the threads are clean. I have never used clip-on fasteners before, but it wasn't hard to figure out which way they face and how to mount them. I used them to add an extension on a Leviton media center box. The instructions called for using long screws to hold the extension and cover onto the existing base. If done that way, every time I removed the cover, the base would come off, which would be a pain. Instead of using the four long screws to mount the cover and extender to the existing cabinet, I used some #8-32 x 1" screws to mount the extender to the base, so that the extender stays in place even if I remove the cover. Then, I put one of these excellent #10-24 stainless J-clip speed nuts on the four exterior corners of the extender, with the nut part facing out. I fastened the cover onto the extender with four 10-32 1" screws. Now, the cover can be removed while the extension stays in place.Bottom line: I'm very happy that I found these and purchased them.

These U-nuts are made of hard steel. I am used to panel edge nuts I used to call Tinnerman nuts, but they aren't exactly the same. I was using these are thicker material and discovered I needed to use Channel Lock pliers to squeeze these down to align the holes before installing the screws. After that, they worked well.
