I, as a fountain pen user, like the paper very much. However, I've given the notebook a low rating as all of the pages I've filled in the first notebook, 30, have pulled out of the binding. I'm very gentle with them, so I suspect some sort of manufacturing problem. I haven't tried the others in the package yet. I hope the defect is only in the first one.

These notebooks are a very adequate solution to the need for a good sized notebook for the customized leather notebook covers I make as raffle prizes for a local nonprofit. The paper isn't bad and the books are well made. The bigger A5 size are great for carrying to meetings and such.

My grandsons love to have books that they can write and draw in. These are well made and I'm going to use my Cricut to personalize the covers of them to make them a little special and then put them in their Easter baskets. I would get these again.

These are great little A5 sized softcover notebooks. The kraft paper covers are like a thicker scrapbook paper weight cardstock, so they're not super stiff and very easy to fold and wrap pages around. The pages are glue bound, not sewn together, so the books do not lay flat unless you crack the spine. The paper is not super thick, it's around copy paper weight, in a soft cream color. The lines aren't quite college ruled but not quite wide ruled, they're somewhere in the middle. The pages take ink well -- there is some ghosting with gel pens and felt tip pens, but there's no bleeding except for alcohol based pens like Sharpies. The title is a little misleading -- it is not 5"x8", it is closer to A5 size (about 5.5"x8.25"). But if you're looking for a bunch of A5 journals for customizing or for putting in an A5 journal cover, this is a great option!
