Installed this heater, filled with coolant and tried for 3 days, each time the coolant was as cold as it was outside. It was -27*C today without the windchill. The heater was drawing 0 amps. Took the cord off and verified with an ohm meter that the heating element had an open circuit, I should have measured this before going through the effort of draining the coolant and installing. Its not worth the plastic that it is shipped in.

The unit heats up quite fast.. it was shorter but fatter than my old one which made it a little harder to install on my international tractor.. it fits good on a 2 inch hose

I was told that this unit would work on the Kioti CS series tractor. It WILL NOT! The lower radiator hose does not have a straight section long enough to make this heater fit.BUT...when I tested the heater before starting to install it, the unit heated up nicely.

Installed on a 2000 Silverado 6.0, this with a trans pan heater and oil pan heater my truck warms up super quick in -40c. Easy to install and comes with clamps, it's far easier to install if you get a new radiator hose and install the heater outside the truck with a new hose then install it

This did not fit my 2012 F150 5.0 V8 (needed the 1.5”) but I bought the same item in 1.5” at a local car parts store. Installing was relatively easy providing you have some mechanical knowledge. I highly recommend installing the wire first prior to connecting to the hose as it is very tough connecting it to the heater because of the rubber seal. It’s been 35°-38° Here in Las Vegas since install and I had the timer set at 3AM (on for 2.5 hours) and I used an infrared thermometer and it showed 155° on the hose temperature close to the heater. I turned on the truck for 10mins prior to driving off to work and the temperature is at optimum when I get in the truck. Before installing the heater, I’ll start the truck and idling for 20 mins and that barely moves the needle when I get in and leave for work. Then it takes 2 miles of driving for the engine to go up to optimum temp (180°-210°).One small thing I noticed was, whomever cleaned up the body with a grinder did a bit much. Anyway, this is a good investment for the price, but my greatest concern is, how long until this thing stops working.

I live in upstate NY on the Canadian border, and it gets pretty chilly. On my Subaru Forester, I had a block heater installed, which works great, but was expensive to have installed. My wife also wanted a block heater on her Nissan Senta, but the local dealer said they couldn't order the part, and even if I somehow got it, it was very difficult and expensive to install. The dealer recommended one of these type of heaters. I looked online at lower radiator hoses until I found the diameter (1.3"), so this was the closest size.Install was straight forward. The hardest part was removing the lower splash shield. I drained the radiator, then cut the hose. A pair of tin snips worked way better than a knife, and it was easier to work from the top instead of being under the car. Secured the clamps, ran the wire through lower bumper (slots in grill were too small), and secured it with zip ties. I then refilled the radiator, reusing the coolant and filtering it through some cotton cloth. I ran the engine for awhile to cycle the coolant, but it was cold enough I couldn't get the lower hose to fill up. I had her drive the car for a couple days before plugging it in. Total project time was 2 hours, probably 40 minutes less if there's no splash shield in the way. When it was first plugged in, it started smoking a bit, probably just some gunk burning off. The entire housing gets really hot quickly, so don't touch it. The heater is on a timer, set 3 hours before she leaves. I also got a long orange extension cord, which she puts under a wiper blade to make sure she unplugs it before driving. It was used the other morning, 3 degrees F outside, she had heat within 2 minutes, it usually takes about 5+.

I just finished the installation of this product on my 00 Wrangler TJ. The installation was mostly uneventful. I did notice an issue with the cord that connects to the heater element though. After finishing my installation I plugged the heater in and it did not work. After refilling the radiator with coolant I was not in a particular hurry to drain it again and disassemble / troubleshoot. After some wiggling of the cord with the heater on the vehicle I noticed that the female spade connectors---in the adapter that attaches to the heater--- were not widened enough during manufacturing. I had to use a flat head screwdriver to widen the plastic that was pinching the spade connector to allow the adapter to seat properly. After plugging it back in, everything worked. Time will tell how effective this is, but with single digit temperatures arriving in New England tomorrow, I expect to find out soon.Oh and a word of caution. Electrocution hazard. Unplug the cord from the power outlet before messing with the adapter that attaches to the heater. You stand an extremely strong chance of getting zapped, the leads are exposed in the cord and they connect via friction alone. Use zip ties liberally to keep that thing in place once you have it installed!------------Almost a year later... After a summer, multiple car-washes and a few thousand miles the ZeroStart is still performing admirably. I plugged the Jeep in for the first time last week and the ZeroStart sprung back to life without incident. Other thoughts after a year. Get a timer or some other method of remotely turning this on. I have mine hooked to a zigbee switch and can toggle the product remotely without having to mess with the plug in the garage or on the Jeep. This saves electricity and also tracks usage.

After going through 2 lower radiator hose heaters from another maker, I ordered this one. The other brand was less expensive but burned out after only a few weeks use each time. After I looked at the reviews online I discovered this is a common problem with some lower radiator hose heaters. (I should have checked the reviews first.)This heater is different. While a little more expensive the quality of construction is so much better there is really no comparison. The heating element is completely isolated from the antifreeze/water and there are no cripmed or epoxied joints to leak. Another great feature is that the power cord unplugs completely from the heater so there isn't a cord that needs to be fastened up out of the way. A great feature for tractors, dozers, or other equipment that might work in a brushy environment where dangling cords could drag or snag. This is a great heater and it has worked flawlessly ever since we installed it. Well worth the money.
