Great replacement, before this unit I had my truck plugged in all night. This unit will raise the temp to 70*F+ in an hour with outside temps in the 30*F saved me on electrical bill during winter.

It got cold here in Ohio this past week, plugged my truck in after work, went to leave the next day unplugged my truck 2011 LML 6.6 Duramax and it wouldn’t start…fuel lines and coolant were cold and assuming the fuel gelled, anyway I towed it to work to un thaw and decided to check the block heater and it was out! Called all the parts stores around no one had a block heater found this on here and it was a perfect fit…truck has 270k miles hopefully this is the only one I have to change!

Had to replace this heater after only a year. Still worked great, but it leaked out of the retaining bolt. Could have replaced the seal on the bolt, but if you have to take it out, might as well replace it. Not a cheap part. About $80.00. New one works great.

Installed this heater after two NAPA heaters failed after 1 season. This cord has an extremely tight fit to plug into the actual heater. When installing on the Duramax block - It's difficult to get into a good position to properly seat the electrical plug. I installed the plug onto the heater BEFORE installing into the block. For easier installation - use a small amount of silicone grease (plumbing section of hardware store) to ease insertion. Be sure to keep the heater fully inserted into the block hole while tightening. If you let it slip and proceed with tightening - it could leak.Very happy with this heater - It is heavier made that other / similar heaters.
