I'm 6'4 235 and this is definitely one of the sturdier ankle braces I've used for running. Worked so well I bought another for my other ankle.

While the fit was fine and the material is very good quality, this brace doesn't have any hinges on the side, or a spot to insert any. Because of this, the brace doesn't really add stability to the ankle. It feels like it just supports my foot and arch. It's also quite bulky - difficult to put in a shoe - and actually quite uncomfortable due to seams that aren't cushioned. It digs into the top of my foot, into all sides of the ball of the heel... just small details that weren't considered.

This brace has been a lifesaver. I suffered a hard fall resulting in both a herniated disc (causing weakness in one leg) and some pulled muscles in the same leg. Nothing broken or torn, but weakness/instability in my ankle has really slowed my recovery in that I've been afraid to try much physical activity, for fear of falling and messing everything up worse. After just a couple days of wearing this brace, I'm already getting around much better—thanks both to the physical support and the added confidence to get up and move more. With a stocking under it, I find it comfortable enough to wear all day, with and/or without shoes.

This is the second ankle brace I've purchased and it's good, but there are some negatives. I like the high laces that provide good support up the ankle and the 3 straps to provide additional support all across your foot. The side straps are strong and provide good support, but sit lower on my ankle then I preferred and may not be good for high ankle support. The brace includes elastic around the arch of your foot. I thought I would like this, but it is very tight, even after using it for 2 months. I thought it would loosen but creates discomfort for my foot as I exercise. Not enough to cause me to stop, but it would be better if it was slightly looser.Probably would look for a different brace if I had to buy again.

This ankle brace provides great support. My daughter wears it while playing volleyball. It’s my 2nd purchase because it seemed to lose its ‘stability’ after wearing for a year, every day, multiple hours per day.

I was worried after looking at the reviews about how this was going to go... I'm not super comfortable trying to figure things out from pictures online and everything said no instructions hard to put on no laces etc... When it came it did look a little overwhelming at first glance but it DID come with shoelaces a lot of people said it didn't but mine definitely DID and it DID come with instructions as well, I don't know if this is a new thing or what but I had instructions they were very easy to follow very simple and straightforward and to the point. I proceeded to try to put my brace on put my foot, I laced it up I did have to unlace it and redo it but that was my fault finally got it laced properly tightened it used the velcro straps to secure the sides very simple with the two side panels that give my ankle tons of support and then the piece at the top it was beyond simple I'm not sure where the problem was with some of these reviews that say it's really hard to figure out it really isn't it's very straightforward and simple I will say all the pictures show you wearing it without a sock I'm not sure why because typically when you're going to wear a brace like this you're going to have a sock on if you are I would get more like a dress sock because you want this to fit snug and you don't want to leave little lines all over your leg or cause any circulation issues the first time I did it I wore it with a thicker type sock that's kind of like a crew sock that has lines at the top I won't do that again LOL I also have edema and stuff so it leaves deeper marks than it might for somebody without those issues I wore it with a very thin kind of dress sock the second time that doesn't have lines and is more like a nylon and it was perfect absolutely perfect..... I do feel I have plenty of support the only negative I will say is I don't think I could go down to a small but I do think that the medium is a little loose in the lower foot area I have bigger legs but my foot is fairly thin so it's not going to fit everybody the same way but I think it does the job well enough that it's what I needed I have torn tendons and tendonitis in my ankle so this is literally just what the doctor ordered I mean I ordered it but he suggested one LOL

I'm recovering from an ankle fracture and am at the point where I'm ditching my full boot and starting to work on range of motion and recovery. After 6 weeks in the orthopedic boot, walking without it has proven to be an interesting challenge mentally and physically. My ankle is still sprained but the bone is healed and while I can walk without the boot, any sort of slight shift can cause a decent amount of pain from the damaged soft tissue. To help get me walking without pain I decided to get an ankle brace and since the #1 recommended one appears to have randomly been discontinued I decided to try this one.Pros:* Instantly more confident in walking - It's comfortable (much more so than the full boot) and provides enough support that I'm finding myself walking with a more natural stride already* Relatively simple - It's lace up so it's not super fast, but it's intuitive and easy to put on* Good support - You're going to lose a little range of motion over not wearing a brace, but that's kind of the idea of a brace* Low profile - You should be able to get this into a shoe if your shoes don't fit too tight.Cons* Little bit tight - I wear a 10.5 which should be squarely in the fitment of the Medium but it's definitely a little tighter than I'd prefer. I realize it's going to support my ankle but it's tight in the wrong places like the top of my foot* No instructions - as mentioned, there are no instructions with it. Pay attention to how you opened it up to get your foot in it and do the reverse to put it on. It's intuitive once you've done it
