I have a less expensive polarizer filter (around $50) that I thought was doing a good job, until I got this one. This is equally effective as a polarizer, but allows in more light than the cheaper one and the photos end up more crisp and clear than with the cheaper polarizer. I primarily shoot with a Sony a7IV and a Sigma 2.8 16-28mm lens. If you are going to spend that much money on a camera/lens, don't try to save a few bucks by going cheap on the filters. There is actually a noticeable difference.

Zeiss used to be absolutely legendary. Sadly, for the last few decades they've been milking the remainder of that reputation while making "good enough" stuff. Case in point: this filter. It does not have anything Zeiss except for its label, and no part of it was made in Germany.Don't get me wrong, as far as Japanese filters go, it's an outstanding piece of kit, although T* coating is quite outdated... But their polarizing foil introduces a noticeable color shift in a violet part of the spectrum (which you can clearly see from conveniently provided charts). It certainly adds a visual "pop" to some outdoor shots, but also has a potential to ruin some indoor or studio shots, so choose wisely.I will be keeping mine specifically for outdoor photography, while resorting to the good ol' Kaesemann when shooting indoors (you know, when you suppress the glare on hardwood floors, and it suddenly turns blue... not good!). In other words, it's an artistic filter.PS: Oddly enough, it does not introduce a yellow tint to polarized light, unlike almost any other non-neutral polarizer known to men, which always exhibits both blue and yellow shift. Very interesting.PPS: If you were wondering if it introduces any vignetting on Fuji's 10-24mm at 10mm... the answer is nope. Zero vignetting.

Utilisé sur une optique Zeiss montée sur Sony A7ii. Ce filtre polarisant fait le travail, mais avec un léger vignettage qu'on ne s'attend pas à avoir sur un produit dans cette gamme de prix.De plus, il attire beaucoup la poussière. La soufflette sera indispensable dans la poche.Je n'ai pas d'expérience avec d'autres filtres polarisants, mais je reste persuadé qu'une autre marque moitié moins cher en ferait autant, voir mieux.Déçu de la qualité pour du Zeiss.

Although not cheep, Zeiss Filitersare of the great quality.I own them on almost all my lens.This one is no exception andI am pleased with purchase.Easily added on top of UV Zeiss Filter.

The quality of construction, as is typical of all Zeiss products, is exceptional. The metal ring easily mounts onto the front of the lens, and twisting of the filter to adjust to polarizer is very smooth and precise. The filter is also very easy to remove from the lens...in significant use, I have yet to notice any problems with the filter's threads being stuck on the lens.A polarizer is generally helpful for those of you who want to mitigate any bright sheen off of wet subjects (i.e. wet rocks, surface water, etc...). A polarizer will also help add a deep blue saturated sky to your images. To make it work, simply turn the filter until you see the desirable effects you want, then stop turning the filter. I rarely shoot without one during daylight hours.I've used many, many filters in my time, and the Zeiss polarizer is among the highest quality I've seen.
