The Bluetooth function is great. The keyboard is great. The Aesthetic is great.What’s not great is the weight/heaviness of the product.And protective mechanism of the case overall. The main function of the product has failed me.I bought this case in July 2024. I dropped my iPad WHILE INSIDE THE CASE for the FIRST time this past January 2025.My iPad is now broken.Unfortunately, my AppleCare on this iPad is expired so now I need to buy another or try to get it repaired… I am so upset.First drop in this “rugged case” and my iPad is now dead.

I really use the case as a kind of otterbox for the tablet. Works great and am very happy with it. I rarely use the keyboard, but it works fine.

I was so pleased to see that Zagg makes a cover/keypad for the newer iPads. I have one on my old iPad Air 2 from 2017 that is still doing a good job at home. This one is even more rugged than my old one and if it last as long as my old one I will be very happy. I also like the updated lighted keyboard.

I am in law enforcement and love how rugged it is. I also love the backlight on the keyboard. It is very user-friendly, and the battery lasts a long time. After reading some of the reviews, I thought I might be disappointed in the product, but I was highly satisfied with how well it was made. I was even happy with how they made the box.

If you want fantastic protection for your iPad, this is the case for it. It’s heavy though, but when my friend saw it, he was amazed at the protection and sturdiness of the case. He said he thought I could drop it off the roof and it would be fine. (Do NOT try this though. haha).I almost sent this back when I got it because I tried for at least 30 minutes to insert my iPad into the case the way the instructions said, and they were wrong. It will only fit in the opposite direction. It’s a very sturdy rubber- like material that is quite thick and heavy as I said. So far it has been a bit difficult to open it and close it but maybe that’s because it’s brand new. I expect that it will get easier over time. I haven’t quite got used to using my new ipad along with a keyboard, and I do kind of wish that I had got a keyboard with a trackpad on it. I think that might have made it a little easier to use the keyboard with the iPad. I’m just not used to it yet. But when I am typing on the keyboard, it’s great— just like typing on a laptop. You just have to push one button to join the keyboard via Bluetooth. I highly recommend it if you can live with how heavy it is. It’s not really something that I would throw in my purse and carry around all day because of its weight, but I believe it would be totally safe if you wanted to do that!

Sorry about the photo. It was the only way to take the picture. My family has been buying these Zaag Ruggard Book Keyboards with the covers for as long as I remember us buying Apple products. I remember it started with my first iPad and as some people have said these are very tight to get into the holder which is true. So with the first one, I was so frustrated my 5-year-old grandson was bugging me the whole time to try to do it and I'm thinking well you have to think outside the box. Within minutes he had it in without a struggle. He didn't look at the directions which explicitly say to make sure to put in the top first. My grandson put in the bottom first and worked his way around to the top. From then on we knew each one would be an issue and we would just follow what my grandson had done. The pairing is easy, even if you have two things, or in the case; of me, I had my phone, this, and my headphones all at once. The typing experience is great. A nice soft touch yet you know you’ve hit your key. It offers you backlit keys at night if you choose. I love this feature because when my husband goes to bed is when I do my best writting. The weight of the Rugged book is just that. Like carrying around a nice size hard covered book. But with rubber all around the edges. It really is good for klutzes like myself. I don't feel it's heavy at all. My only issue as always is the life of these which is about 3 to 4 years if you are lucky. Then if you're buying the Insurance which I do just in case, you're looking at $50.00 per year. I’ve wasted time and money buying and returning those other little less “involved and fancy” keyboards and know what they obvioudly cost up front. I never buy any Insurance on them but Zagg I know for a fact is well worth it; Zaag is a great company. Their Customer Service is friendly and helpful and I love (as does my whole family) all their keyboards for the difference. size ipads. you won't be disappointed with a Zaag.
