Bought this to replace a worn down Continental Gatorskin. So far after a couple hundred miles on mostly smoothish black top, I really have no complaints. Wear is good/normal, the ride seems smoother (aluminum frame ’93 Cannondale) than the Gatorskins, and no punctures yet. I have full confidence in these for the days I get a chance to go out on long rides of 50+ miles.Using Gatorskins for so long, I forgot how difficult it was to get the last length of bead on rims. A little soapy water, zip tie, and tire lever, and the tire mounted nice and tight.Pretty good value I think if you don't want to spend the extra money on higher end tires. I don't have any regrets except for feeling guilty not purchasing a Gatorskin.

I always buy the Vittoria Tires. I've been riding with Rubino Pro or the Zaffiro Pro for years and logged over 19,000 miles. On average, I get around 2 to 3 thousand road bike miles, that's a year of riding for me. I run the tires with tire inner liners and gel tubes on carbon wheels. If I'm lucky, I may get one flat a year. For a perspective, I live in goat head country in the central valley of California. I don't race, I do a lot of endurance riding. I see a lot of complaints on some reviews about the difficult installation of these tires. If you are putting the new tire on cold, it will be an exhausting/frustrating task and you will likely break a couple tire levers in the process. A little advice: take the tire out of the package, unfold and round out the tire, and lay in the sun on a sidewalk for 30 minutes. When the tire is warm/hot, it will expand/stretch and make easy to install. Just a reminder, the tires are directional, so look for the arrow before installing. The Zaffiro max pressure is rated at 130 psi and minimum pressure is 87 psi. I keep my pressure around 115-117 psi. For the price, these are good tires for the average consistent rider.

I have a policy in rating tires hoping I can get at least 3,000 miles on them before they deteriorate. When it comes to price and value the Vittoria and Continental Ultra Sport III are the best value choices for people on a budget. They both handle well, have good grips on the road and average around 3,000 miles before they need to be replaced. Even though the tires are a little heavy they have good rolling resistance and protection from flats. It really is a toss up on getting either tire, I usually buy the one that is on sale. I average 6,000 miles a year, have 2 road bikes I ride regularly and I am a diverse rider. I ride on rough chip seal roads, by myself, with groups and charity rides as well as amature cat 5 races. These tires won't win you many races but they are dependable and fun to ride on. I last purchased the Vittoria 700x23 tire pictured in this review in January 2023 and put 2800 miles on it before it quickly deteriorated. Wish it made the 3,000 mile goal but it was close enough for me to recommend this tire and will buy it again as well as the Continental Ultra Sport III. Thanks, and safe riding everyone!

First time using Vittoria tires, so I went entry-level to get a feel for the brand. These have been reliable and performed well in (so far) 5 months of use. I installed them (700x23) on my road bike in October 2022 and 90 rides later I have over 2800 km (1800 miles) on them. The fact that in this time, I have only one flat on the unmaintended and crack-filled streets of San Jose makes that all the more impressive. They may not be the fastest, lightest or most responsive. But they are not slow, heavy or unresponsive.Cons:- not super easy to get the tire on and off the rim- the rated tire pressure (7-10 bar or 100-145 psi) is WAY TOO HIGH. The tires will perform like rocks, flat easier and wear faster at those pressures. I am running mine at 90 (front) and 95 (back) and the durability, comfort and performance have improved significantly!

This is my 2nd set. I ran the last set for 13 months or 4000 + miles. They are cracking at the side walls, so I figured I got my money worth out of them. Run good, true and quiet. Easy to install.
