Most everyone's already said what needs to be said on this digitizer. Follow the YouTube video with a T8 Torx driver and a small flat blade and you'll be set. The job is a bit fiddly, but just take your time and follow the steps. All functions on my 2008 Charger's (previously unresponsive) touch screen have been restored. Nice part...hope it lasts.

Original screen began randomly selecting things on its own then quit all together, screen is fairly easy to replace, u will need a small t8 torx bit . several good youtube tutorials on this replacement. new screen is in after about an hour and works flawlessly.2010 Ram RER alpine system.

Firstly, the unit came nicely wrapped in 10-12 layers of bubble wrap and in a sturdy cardboard box.Obviously a must have for a device like this, but you never know.Getting to the digitizer is fairly straight forward but more time consuming than actually changing the digitizer itself. There is a decent YouTube vid out there about getting to it.A simply search will help you there. One thing I was very happy about is the ribbon cable from this digitizer is direct plug and play into the PCB.In the video I watched he had to cut the old cable off, sand, and join the two together. So this is very very good. Before removing the old digitizer make a mark with a sharpie on the frame as to what orientation the frame goes with the ribbon cable “outlet”.The frame is directional with the mounting tabs to the chassis and the frame also is thicker on ones side than the other.Just make note of this.Take a very sharp exacto knife and work it along the edge of the old digitizer and frame.Do this over a garbage can. Mine was cracked and just chipped apart as it went.Once you get it all off, scrape any residual tape off the frame and give it quick clean with some alcohol.Isopropyl for the frame, bourbon for you. You’re on the way.On the new digitizer, carefully pull off the backing of the new double sided tape. YES IT HAS THE TAPE PREINSTALLED.Make sure you align the ribbon cable with your marking on the frame…remember you did do that? Right?!Give it a nice press on flat surface, digitizer face down as the frame is not uniform.Make sure it’s all snug and “sealed”.Now rebuild the radio.Enjoy.Screen works great, is clear, nice touch response.Very happy!

Replacing just the digitizer was the way to go, considering these radios go for $300-400 used. It took me about an hour to replace it. Minus the tools, it comes with everything you need, including the double stick tape around the edges. I kind of wish it said that in the listing, because I order the double stick tape and ended up not needing it. Once the digitizer was installed, the radio reassembled and in back in the dash, the radio came to life and the touchscreen worked like new.
