My son’s iPad has taken a beating. After my 6th time opening it for screen repairs, the cable to the screen digitizer broke. The result was an absolutely lifeless screen.My first go installing this digitizer along with a replacement screen seemed like a success, but it was detecting ghost presses all over. Upon powering it on, it mashed buttons until 3 addition dialects were added and I had 0 control. Through much effort, I got it to shut off and then waited for the battery to die before I could open it again.This time, I was careful and deliberate with every connector and cable routing. The ribbon cable needs routed smoothly and the 3 metal-backed connectors should click into place. Hopes were low as I wasn’t sure if the problems stemmed from the replacement screen or digitizer as I didn’t find anything clearly wrong with the last assembly. Upon firing it up after a bit of charging, it worked absolutely perfect and feels like new! Now I have a zombie iPad for myself!The screen borders are slightly off, but they could have been that was from factory for all I know. Could also be the fault of the outer screen replacement that went on at the same time. With a black screen surround it’s barely noticeable, but I could see it being more annoying on a white screen. Again, leaning toward blaming a different product for the misalignment, but something to be aware of when shopping for budget replacement parts.As for value, it’s hard to justify the cost and effort with the price of used iPads consistently dropping. Makes more sense if you’re trying to preserve data and settings. Initially I was hoping to back it up and load its brains into a different iPad, but the screen has to work to enable a computer to back it up. I also prefer not being wasteful, so willing to pay and waste time to keep a device out of the dump. Overall I’m happy with the repair and journey, but admittedly it’s not for everyone.

The screen is original, the complimentary tools are complete, the packaging is very careful, there is no damage during transportation, it has been installed, perfect!
