We use this for our Turtle we inherited. It works well in an old tub to keep the water temp where it's needed when it gets cold. So far it is working well.

I did just receive this today, so I can’t speak to longevity. It does fit so much better in my 3 gallon rimless shrimp tank than the smallest heater I could find at my local pet store.I have a hygger on my 29 gallon that of course is huge, but this little heater has the external control and thermometer just like my hygger. I really like that, so convenient to change the temp without taking out the device and fiddling with a knob on the top, and it shows the actual aquarium temp in large clear numbers.I will update this review if I encounter any issues with the device, I’m hoping not.

Not heating up to temperature. I set the Heater temperature to 82 degrees and the heater says it reaches it. After a few weeks the water still seemed a little cold, I put a temperature probe right next to the heating element and it says the water temperature is only 72.8 degrees, 2 degrees warmer than my ambient temperature. Completely garbage

That heater is OK I guess, unless you need it to be very precise. Mine goes from 78.5 to 81.5 when set up to 79 (based on it's own reader, I don't have any other thermometer to double check). I only have some snails and one betta in a 5Gal tank, so that should be fine for the price (although I consider lowing to 78.5 to keep it in better range). I would not use it for anyone more temp sensitive, invest in something better.
