If your butter is at the exact correct temperature, this works ok. Otherwise, you might as well have a knife in your hands. Do not recommend this.

It is a nice piece of SS, but pratically useless as a butter knife. The video shows the butter curling up and being easily placed on toast. NOT if the butter is cold: you'll struggle and be disappointed with the results. The butter WILL curl up with warm butter, but is almost impossible to transfer to the bread, and spreads no more easily than a butter knife. Stay with the tried and true butter knife. Promise.

What I really like about this knife is the bend/angle in it. The handle sits on your counter or dish, and the sharp end thus sticks up into the air. It keeps the butter from spreading on your stuff and getting messy. No comment about the little holes to grate the butter. We keep ours on the counter so it isn't an issue.

This tool/knife makes thin noodle like shaving of butter which spread and melt easily on my toast.Does what it does well and it looks good too! Most importantly, it's made in Japan and not China so no worries on the actually metal use to made this.I had too many nasty surprises with Made in China garbage so I always go out of my way to buy non-China made items especially on something I use with my food.

When I saw this online I thought, this could really work if it's made right. Worried about the handle because it's just a flat piece of steel. I actually bought this for my wife because rather than wait for the butter from the fridge to thaw she'll hack it to pieces.Got it and it's Great! It's made right, made well! My wife wouldn't touch it at first and now she loves it! Loves it! This knife does what it says it will do; curls small ribbons of butter, softening them so that you can easily spread them on toast, bread or the palm of your hand. The flat piece of steel that is the handle fits my hand perfectly and is comfortable. If it's not comfortable for you wrap it in leather, ribbon, paper towels or crepe paper. This is a great kitchen tool. Some "High End Kitchen Equipment" online site is selling this for a whole lot more. Fogetaboutem'!

The use is obvious. It works extremely well on cold, hard butter. Small, easy to store, and a nice addition to my kitchen gadgetry . . .

I was introduced to this item through an ad posted on a kitchen site I use frequently, even though I really didn’t it. I’m a food gadget guy, so what’s the harm, right? No harm really, but the thing simply doesn’t work (after three tries on three sticks of butter of differing coldness). You end up with a messy glop of butter on whatever you were trying to use the thing for, plus oily fingers because you have to use them to get the butter off the gadget. Not worth sending back, but I’ll gladly pass it on (with full disclosure) to anyone who thinks he/she will have better luck with it.

This butter creamer is very easy to use - it's basically a bent piece of stainless steel stock that's had holes bored into it (similar to the holes in a fruit peel zester) that allow cold or even frozen butter to be produced so it's easy to spread. This one has some industrial modernist design so it fits in just about any but the most delicate of kitchens - love this thing.

I skeptical at first. Thinking this is some sort of gimmick but after using for 2 weeks, I love this little butter spreader. It does everything with ease and very cool item to display on you kitchen dinning counter.

Great product that helps soften straight from the fridge butter, gets a good spread on toast.
