I got this balance box, to help stabilize my tractor. I use it with a quick connect. It’s sturdy, holds about 5-60lb bags of rocks, plush shovels and what ever else I can jamb in it. It’s easy to use and helps balance my xj2025 , when I have the backhoe off of it. Well worth the price. I wish they sold a blue on lol!

Overall not a bad product for the price but the pins are only cat 0 with sleeves provided to bring the pin diam up to cat1. Don’t try to use the hairpins provided to secure it as they are woefully lightweight and will fail causing the box to drop off the arms. Also it could be a bit bobber. I filled it to the top with sand and only got 450 to 500 pounds in it.

The sheet metal used to make this product is too thin and weak to hold up. The sheet metal seams on the box are only tack welded which adds to the weakness of the product. I have the ballast box presently in a welding shop being reinforced with good steel reinforcement and having all seams "seam welded". I filled the box with gravel and the door bulged out from that weight. The right side bottom lift pin bent inward flexing the tack welded seam open. I doubt the 2" receiver is going to hold up to pulling any significant weight with the tractor. I believe this product should be avoided and you will be much better off having a ballast box made by someone qualified.

Overall an excellent product. Does exactly what it says it'll do.I have a sub-compact utility tractor with a category 1 3-point hitch, and this thing is perfect for balancing out the weight when picking something up with the loader.The only two reasons I gave this 4 instead of 5 is because of the hardware that was included for hooking it up to the tractor.1. The top link pin is too large of a diameter to fit a standard category 1 top link. (Fortunately I have a couple laying around, so easily remedied.)2. This ballast box is advertised as being for use with category 1 3-pt hitch, however, the draw pins included for the lower links are sized for category 0. Fortunately I had some bushings around.In either case, a solid product, was just disappointed that the included hardware for hook was not what was expected/advertised.

I received my ballast box in great condition, but there was a problem with the welding of the 2" receiver (for a trailer hitch). The seller was very responsive to my concern, and more than fair in coming to a resolution. Much better support than I might have expected.Functionally, the ballast box fits my Category 1 hitch (on a Kioti 2220) with no problem. The pins all fit perfectly. I've used it many times now and am happy to have it. I have installed and removed the box a few times in order to use my tiller. No troubles, everything works as expected.I use the tubes to carry tools, mainly a shovel and rake. I added PVC pipe inside the metal tubes to keep my tool handles from being damaged. Works well, and very convenient. I have about a third of the box filled with bricks and chunks of cement. This, plus ballast-filled tires, is enough to let me carry a loader full of damp topsoil. If I were moving gravel I may add more ballast to the box; there's plenty of room!So, I'm very happy and satisfied with my purchase. (My son recently bought a similar but different brand of box. His is smaller and the pins weren't the correct diameter. He had to resolve this himself. Happy I bought this one!)

Its a big box for holding ballast. 5x80# bags of concrete fit with about 10" to spare at the top. The box itself appears to be well constructed and square. All parts were included. Important note: The top link is class 1. The lower links were class 0, and smaller than class 1. The supplied top link pin was also too big for the Class 1 top link. To be used with a tractor setup for Class 1 and an item described as Class 1, some modifications and additional parts are required: 2x Class 1 Draw pins and one Class 1 hitch pin for the top link. The modification was to drill new 7/8" holes for the draw pins. $20 and some sweat equity, and we're good to go. Overall, it is good for what it is but be prepared to spend some time and $ to get it to function with a Class 1 setup.MARCH 2021 UPDATEThe seller contacted me after the above review and offered a partial refund. I have adjusted my rating based on the seller making good on their product, and the extra money spent for assembly.Additional item comments: If you use permanent ballast, such as concrete, be sure to add some drain holes. It is also simple to add a chainsaw mount to the side, a useful modification requiring a couple of holes and some 1x lumber. Lastly, on it's intended use, the extra stability is noticeable and quite helpful.
