I’m a huge fan of this litter box. We just purchased our second one because we adopted a new cat. Between the size, durability, and how easy it is to ACTUALLY clean the box, we knew we couldn’t go with anything else. It’s lightweight, making it easy to move to clean the inside and around it. It’s scratch proof, so we don’t ever deal with things sticking, and if we do, it’s much easier to get off than a regular plastic box. There’s also ZERO odor, because there’s nowhere for bacteria to get trapped. We’ve been so impressed with the improvement since switching to a stainless box from a plastic one. I recommend it to anyone with cats, it’s a game changer.

I bought 4 & am about to buy my 5th. The cost is absolutely worth it even if you have 1 cat. I have a multi-cat household that fosters cats & kittens besides my 3 regular resident cats.I have been thru the gamut of every cat box available over the years. Everything except teaching my cats how to use the toilet & flushing! There was the rolling catbox with drawer full of poop & clumped pee that pulls out. Nice thought, but found my cats smelling like cat box after grate inside would get fragments of poop on it & cats would go in & rub their backs against it. Then there was the electric programable sphere that auto detected movement & would do a full rotation, dumping the poop into a drawer beneath the unit ($400!). Same result as afore box mentioned. Then bought the pricey one that hooked up to the toilet & poop was supposed to be washed away. It frequently clogged with liquified cat poop & was a pain to clean. Then, there were the electronic boxes (plastic) with a rake & motion detector (>$100). The rake kept getting clogged with cat waste & wouldn't lift anything stuck to the bottom. The motor stopped working in 1, the other's unit got off track & couldn't be put back on. All of these cat boxes were made of mostly plastic so eventually absorbed odors. Just imagine if you pooped & peed in a plastic bucket daily & washed it out. Eventually your bucket would stink. Went to cardboard boxes which I would just toss, but they needed assembly & reinforcing. Finding a steady supply of similar boxes was difficult. Carrying the cardboard boxes out to the dust bin was difficult too. After my cats were done with them they weighed a ton as their urine would soak into the walls of the box & some feces stuck to bottom & sides (just 1 day's worth as I'm religious about scooping their boxes daily). I mention this because I want you to know that I believe I've tried & tested them all, spending many hundreds of $ on finding a solution. I decided to go old-school & just get them new litter boxes but this time, stainless steel ones.I bought one of the larger sizes with 8" sides thinking there would no longer be litter scattered around outside the box. Wrong! Although I'm sure that the litter kicked from the box would be greater if the walls were lower, they still make minor messes but that's easily swept up. It's almost like they were challenged to see if they could kick the litter over the walls! LOL. OK, that's the only downside, but is typical of any litter box. I put doggie pee pads around the box & that helps some, also catches any accidents if they occur. Newspaper or cardboard would probably work as well.At the same time, I bought a Bissel hand-held steamer on Amazon (avg cost $40) for an experiment I wanted to try when cleaning the boxes. Between changes, I fire up my steamer after a thorough scoop & due to its high walls, I can tip the box this way & that, shifting the litter to the other end of the box. Then steam & wipe the walls on the other side with paper towels to clean up sprayed urine (which you can actually SEE!) & also get any poop residue off the bottom or sides. It's not quite true that nothing sticks to the interior of the box, but it does come off a lot easier than with a plastic one. I don't contend with that very often as I use my lift-the-box-to-shift-the-litter method each time I scoop them. That exposes potential sticky spots & saves me time in the long-run.For a full change, I don't need to take one of these stainless steel bad boys to the bathtub to rinse out. I first collect all the waste. After that, there's a lot less litter to contend with. I pour the old litter into a garbage bag & steam the box inside & out thoroughly, wiping as I go along. By the time I'm done, the box is sparkling & I've saved my back from strain having to carry the box & don't have to sanitize my bathtub because I didn't need it.There's a reason veterinarians use stainless steel on just about everything, from litter trays to cages. If you're as hyper-vigilant as I am about keeping your litter boxes clean & not have to cope with the smell in your house, you should give this box a whirl. Mind you, you need to scoop EVERY DAY! No box is going to be smell-free when full of cat poop & pee. Also pick out any of those micro crumbs of litter that form from drops of urine or a piece of excrement crumbling. Those add to odor also. If you're a person who lets the boxes goes for more than a day or 2, it will stink. Quality clumping litter is a must (not the $10/40lbs "clumping" litter). Fresh Step Multicat is a good choice, although I'm looking for something superior to that. So far, I've found having stainless steel boxes is the best solution to providing the cleanest poop & pee solution for my cats. Highly recommend if you're willing to do the work to take your cat's hygiene to a new level.

This is THE MOST durable litter box my cat has ever had. I had to switch from plastic litter boxes because they were incredibly difficult to clean, and the smell of urine NEVER went away no matter what.My cat had also been voiding outside his litter box (on beds, couches, furniture) no matter what I tried, and weirdly enough, those patterns immediately stopped after he started using this (it's been 6 months now without him peeing on any furniture.)PROS:*✅️super easy to clean! Urine does tend to stick to the sides of the box, but it's so easy to wipe off with a disinfectant wipe or paper towel.*✅️much bigger than my cat's previous litter box! The size difference could contribute to why he stopped voiding outside the litter box.*✅️I was worried about buying it because it doesn't come with a top cover, but since my cat has to wear a cone now, it works perfectly!*✅️ stainless steel metal doesn't absorb the smell of urine like plastic does, so as long as you also use a good brand of litter, you shouldn't have to worry about your house smelling like cat 💩*✅️ I don't think I'll ever have to buy another litter box! This is definitely made to last! It's a bit pricier than what you'll pay for with plastic litter boxes, but it's 100% worth the investment!!*✅️ better for the environment! I read somewhere that you're supposed to replace a plastic litter box EVERY year... and that's really terrible for the environment. With this, it's a one time investmentCONS:❌️sides may not be high enough. My cat doesn't always kick litter everywhere, but when he does... well, it's a mess. He usually only does it on one side, so I placed a mat behind the box.---> this is also a pro in a way because the 6in sides allow my cat to be able to enter the litter box while wearing a cone.*❌️the scratching noise is definitely more annoying because the box is made of metal, but I feel after using it for 6 months, It's a lot more tolerable now. You just may have to get used to it.

I don't know why I waited so long to buy stainless steel litter boxes, but if you are on the fence, DO IT! These ones were on sale, and I couldn't pass it up! These are so easy to clean, they have no smell, and are heavy enough that my cats can't push them around or tip them over. My one cat likes to scratch the box after he does his business, and it was tearing up the plastic boxes I had. It was also creating areas for litter and smells to get trapped. While he still "scratches", he can't make any dents in the box. And of course, no smells get trapped. The litter slides right out, and there are grips on the bottom to prevent the boxes from sliding around. The sides are high enough so the litter doesn't get flung out, but not so high that my cats struggle to get in. The size is also perfect, and they are large enough for my 13 pound boy and 11 pound girl to fit in comfortably. It is a worthy investment if you're still using the smelly plastic boxes! Take the leap and grab a couple of these! You won't regret it!

Update (Nov 16) (Last three pictures): For review purposes, I let the litter get to 1/2" - 1" deep so I could see how easy pee clumps can be removed. First thing, odor is non existant! Bye, plastic, forever... Second, I think the amount of "stickage" will depend on your choice of litter. I used the entire 24 lbs of Ever Clean litter, so to me the clumps were quite sticky and not as solid as Dr. Elseys litter (clumps are harder, therefore easy to scoop with no crumblies). So there is a residue, but I was pleased with how easy and smooth it is to clean it up with a paper towel and cat safe cleaner. Easy to wipe down dry too, my old plastic bin was scratched so sometimes it would tear the paper and it was a mess. Third, with this tilt and scoop cleaning method, the box was very light and easy to tilt, and it does not bend like plastic (woohoo!), so I was able to make this litter last a lot longer for me.I loved the stainless steel so much I got a stainless steel scoop.... seemed like the logical next step. I'll be transitioning her clay litter to walnut litter :) Shoutout to Jess Caticles!!1st review (Nov 1st): I don't know why I just accepted plastic litter bins as the only option. I went to research non plastic options and found stainless steel. I like that its 6 inches tall, to allow for 3 inches of litter depth and 3 inches to prevent it from flying out when she covers up. I needed this because this box allows me to tilt it while scooping without bending it. I don't allow her pee clumps to have a chance to touch the bottom, to extend litter life, but when it does get low to touch I hope it does not stick like it did with the plastic bin. I'll come back to update, but for now I'm very satisfied and feel that the price is worth the durability.
