Well made and plated. Rim is very comfortable, just wide enough and rounded enough for my tastes. The cup is called "very deep" in the specs, but I find it to be a fairly shallow bowl. Tone called dark, but it's really rather bright. Called capable of great volume, but I can't get a lot of volume out of it no matter how much air pressure I use.Still, it's a decent mouthpiece with typical Yamaha workmanship. I'll get used to it, and its playing comfort is excellent.

This was for my son and he loves it. It performs as it should on his marching tuba.
