You need to purchase songs to use on this. Not what I had in mind, basically a $600 drum mic

This little thing is absolutely brilliant. I bought it thinking it was just a simple drum mic. It is but it also turns your kit into a hybrid acoustic electric kit with built in samples and it sounds great! Definitely recommend adding a snare trigger (not included) to really take this to the next level. Another $100 for a dual head/rim trigger is totally worth it. Get it!

I was tired of bringing mics, clips, stands, and cords for my drums. This one module does it all with a 5 minute setup.

Es una exelente herramienta para bateristas, loestoy usando principalmente para tocar en vivo con mis bandas de bar. Le da un sonido profesional al instrumento con solo instalarlo y subir el volumen. Todavía no lo pruebo para grabar, después les cuento.

This is totally worth it at a fraction the cost of multiple mics, stands & interface, etc. The EAD10 sound is perfect for me. I use it for recording my acoustic kit and not really as a conversion into an electronic kit… tho the electronic sounds are fun to mess with.ADDITIONAL CORDS TO BUYI bought an ‘iPhone to Type B’ (iPhone to printer cable) just like the instructions suggest and it’s been perfect to use my phone and iPad with. It plugs from the phone straight into the back of the module. I did NOT buy an adapter for my phone to use with the regular printer cable… the adapters don’t work very well, from my past experiences and from what I’ve heard people complain about. Using the iPhone to Type B cord, you can also stream music from your phone to the unit to play to.You’ll need the Type B printer cable to go straight from the module to your computer if you’re going to use a DAW to record. Again, I bought one for my Mac that is a ‘printer cable to Mac’… no adapters or USB converter to plug into my computer. Goes straight from my Mac into the back of the module.DAW For recording - I’ve been using garage band and that’s been great as well. My computer detected the EAD10 and linking it together was super easy.I’ve also used the REC N SHARE app to be able to do quick videos and it’s been awesome. The iPhone to Type B cable is all you’ll need for that too. Your phone should recognize the EAD. As for streaming & recording drumless tracks, you’ll have to do some research but I use Transcribe.STAND/MODULE MOUNTINGI bought a projector stand off Amazon that had a top shelf for my laptop and a smaller bottom shelf for the module. That’s all I’ve got. Hope it was helpful. Yamaha really nailed it with this unit. It’s helped my practicing immensely. I’d say players of all levels can benefit from this and it’s worth it’s weight in gold.

Bought this for my son so he could record on phone and share files to make songs. Well, this requires an Apple lightning to USB3 camera adapter ($40) plus a USB 2.0 printer cable ($7). He tried to set it up today and attach it to the hi hat stand and learned through YouTube that it requires a "Yamaha CSAT924 Parallel Multiclamp Cymbal Stand Attachment" for $23 bucks. So, if you're planning to use it to record files for recording purposes and have it attached in the recommended spot on the drum kit, you can expect to also have to purchase these items for another 70 bucks.

I love this unit, been using it for a week now and it's a game changer for practice. The sound quality is amazing for such a simple device and the bass drum trigger is a great addition as you can add a sample overlay to give your bass drum some punch...

Really cool to be able to change the sound of my acoustic drums. Easy setup. iPhone app is very cool for recording sound and video, and ability to take tracks from music library and make click-tracks. Going to try to connect to my laptop and use Jamkazam to see if I can play live with band members online. Expensive toy but a lot of fun!

What a great ideaI use it live with the DT50 snare triggerIt mic's the whole kit and the bas drum and snare sound great on most all the settingsI recently added two more DT50 triggers for a tom and floor tom really adds extra sound to them alsoAll around great addition to my kit and it sets up in about 5 minutes and I plug to in our system like a single mic

This is a super useful tool. It's more useful for practice than anything else, but it's passable for recording as well - especially for how simple it is to get great sounds. Here are a couple of things I've learned along the way that you may find useful:1. Make sure the cables are connected well. I had intermittent static at first and it turned out to be a not-perfectly-connected cable.2. The ride cymbal will be overwhelming in a typical 4-piece configuration where the ride is somewhere between the rack and floor toms. It ends up relatively close to the mic array and there's nothing between it and the mics. When I added a second rack tom and moved the ride out over the floor tom the mix balanced out nicely.
