We bought a new drum kit for our church and wanted a nice new snare to go with it and didn't just want to get a cheap one but wanted one that would tune up well and sound good all around. First off, the finish on this is beautiful, and the hardware seems pretty sturdy. I bought some new heads for it, tuned it up, and it sounds great! You really can't go wrong with Yamaha. Even their budget items are quality and I've found this to be true with their guitars and basses as well. The tour custom is built to be durable and this thing seems like it'll last for years to come, and the maple shell gives it plenty of great tone versatility. This is probably the best snare you can buy at this price point.
