there is no way i am keeping this at 70$ price for a single poorly made mount set. the clamps that go around rack are plastic. even if you added a pad lock to make this item use full it would easily be snatched off a vehicle. i am returning this asap

I have a roof basket that is not yakima. I got these brackets to work but had to get longer bolts from home depot. 4 stars because I feel it's a bit over priced. The work well holding up my shovel and axe.

Very happy with this. It fits my Curt roof rack like a glove. To get it tight, I just didn't use the washers provided, I have no doubt this will last a long time.11/17/22 edit: still holding up well. After 2 years of rough use, I did have to retighten everything but thats been the only drama. Use some blue loctite if you never want to worry about it.

Most say its not worth the money, and i was going to fab my own and should of. Its a decent product but not worth what Yakima charges. Once you disassemble it your left with a pile of parts which are easy to lose. Biggest complaint is the main bolt that you screw the handle onto to tighten the clamp, once you remove the clamp the bolt falls out. I had to add some nylock nuts to hold that bolt to the bracket.Its not a horrible product but if your looking for something where you can just remove your shovel or axe and walk away, its not for you. It does hold a shovel tight once assembled.

Easy install with regular tools (flathead screwdriver and socket wrench) took 15 minutes. Be sure to face shovel away from door where someone can hit their head (instructions did mention this).This a Yakima accessory was installed on a Reese Explore brand basket without modification and may fits other brands.Allows me to utilize unused space on my roof to give me room inside my vehicle.

Fits my Curt rack perfectly. Installation is straight forward and solid. You can really torque down on the knobs to secure the tools. After an hour on a rocky, rutted trail in 4WD Low they didn't loosen at all. Can remove the clamping hardware and leave the bracket on the rack when the tool is not in place.My only (minor) complaint, I would like to be able to lock or secure the tool when in place.

The product itself is great. It's the ridiculous Yakima price I have a problem with. All their products seem to be well designed and made, but the prices are just stupid.

I purchased this not knowing if it was able to mount to my Curt roof basket. This fits with my small shovel and it was a pretty easy install. I love Yakima products. You get what you pay for.

Works great for a small shovel. The only issue I had was I originally purchased a shovel that had a slight bend on the handle end- and this prevented it from being able to face inward towards the basket (even if I put the shovel end curving around the back of the basket slightly the handle still wasn't flush). So I just found a shovel with a straight handle and that fixed it. The Brackets hold tight. Easy to install. I think all the Yakima accessories are slightly expensive but they work.
