Not too loud and it does good pumping up to 120 psi. No problems. Just don't forget to put oil in it before using.

boys and girls , Please , If your motor isn't powerful enough with the present pulley setup then change the pulley size , check to see what RPM the pump needs to run , then adjust the pulley size to accommodate this , if you need more power the smaller the pulley on your motor the more power it will have but then the rpm drops at the compressor pump

It was poorly packaged and some of the aluminum fins were broken. All the holes for screws had to be re-threaded, screws were different lengths. There was no paper work on the air compressor, the only info was on the outside of the box. But it does work as an air compressor.

This unit was not a plug and play installation. As I fully expected the mounting holes didn't match and the air outlet (air into the tank) fitting was different. My new unit did have a flair fitting for a 1/2-in tube. The previous one had compression with 1/2-in tubing. A bit of work but perfectly straightforward. It comes up to pressure faster than the previous pump. The flywheel does need to be tapped onto the tapered shaft, but the washer/bolt holds tight with the reverse threads keeping it tight during operation. I was surprised it did not have a key to keep the "lock" between the shaft and flywheel. Now I'll see how long it holds up. I would buy again.UPDATE: Now that I have owned this unit "for over a year" - So here is the update: After almost 11-months of good operation, it threw a rod and locked up. The distributor who sells here (at Amazon) immediately replaced it. But after a couple of months of operation the new unit would not build over 80 pounds of pressure . I called the manufacturer for help. I was trying to BUY a rebuild kit, and got no help at all. So in the "over a year" comment, it was actually two units to get 13 months of operation. I would definitely buy from the distributor again, but not this unit or any product built by the manufacturer.
