About this item

  • [Performance] The XSound 2.1R helmet speakers offer amazing sound quality, with solid bass and clear highs that rival some of the best full-sized headphones. However, it's important to note that the maximum volume levels (max 124dB) of these speakers are the loudest we have ever made. Use with caution!
  • [Music Source] Output power and quality of the device you plug the speakers into will affect the volume and overall sound quality. Use a device with a high-quality output and be careful when adjusting the XSound 2.1R with the added extra volume.
  • [XSound Kit] Proper speaker placement is crucial for optimal audio quality and volume. The XSound 2.1 comes with 3M velcro stickers to keep your speakers securely in place inside your helmet. Correctly align the speakers to elevate your helmet audio experience. For the best results, position the speakers as close to your ears as possible and use the included foam spacers to achieve the ideal fit.
  • [Connect With] The XSound 2.1R helmet speaker uses a 3.5mm audio pin. Compatible with most bluetooth comms, smartphones and mp3 players. Please ensure that your device has a 3.5mm earbud jack/female plug (not compatible with all Sena Motorcycle Headsets). Pending on audio source level, helmet speakers may require volume boost app or a EAR3 helmet amp for some smartphones, Bluetooth comms and other devices.
  • [Dimensions] Tuned 40mm drivers. Measures 1.77" (45mm) in diameter and 0.39" (10mm) thin with velcro installed. Varied length Kevlar-reinforced wires stand up to 10lbs of pulling tension. Cable lengths LEFT speaker: 19.29" (49cm) RIGHT speaker: 11.41" (29cm).

Audio Range

The XS2.1R brings your music to life with depth and clarity that standard helmet speakers can’t deliver. And they’re redesigned and engineered with a slim stainless steel chassis for fitment for any helmet.

Volume will vary when used with Bluetooth motorcycle headsets. Volume level depends on your headset and if it has sufficient wattage to drive them. Tested performance output 124dB; IASUS does not recommend long exposures at the highest volume as it may permanently damage your ears.

TESTING BEFORE MOUNTING THE SPEAKERS IN YOUR HELMET

helmet speakers audio

1. Test XSound 2.1 sound quality

Before mounting the speakers in your helmet, it is recommended to test and connect the helmet speakers directly to your smartphone or music player. Use the 3.5mm extension cable and hold the XSound 2.1 speakers to your ears as your music plays.

helmet speakers installation

2. Find the optimal position on your ear

Position the XSound helmet speakers so that it is directly on your ear canal while wearing your helmet. You may need to make multiple adjustments until you reach the optimal positioning.

It is also recommended that the speakers touch the surface of your ears to avoid any loss of sound from the speakers.

helmet speakers installation

3. Make sure there is enough space in your helmet for the speakers

Certain brands of helmet and headgear are designed for a tighter fit and may not accommodate our speakers. Please determine whether your helmet can comfortably accommodate the extra 1/2 inch of helmet speaker on each side before your purchase.

Modification to the helmet may be required.

**XSound 2.1 helmet speakers shown in the image above. Foam spacer can be purchased separately.

I have the Pactalk system and did not want to be changing my speakers from one helmet to the other because I did not want to wear out the velcro that helps hold the liners in. This was my answer to that, they are cheap priced but sound great.

I purchased these to put inside my motorcycle helmet. The quality seem a bit better than the speakers that came with my system. And the audio is loud enough to hear over my engine and wind noise. I started cutting the helmet foam just enough to place the speaker in and they extended out a little to touch the ear. This took out most of the wind noise since it was right on the ear. I rode like this to try it out. It was uncomfortable, so I made the cut a little deeper. I like this feel and installed it in permanently. Remember not to cut too much at one time. I cut a little at a time to keep the whole tight for the speaker and comfortable for my ears. But you do need to make sure they are in line with your ears, and they will work fine.

I had these in my helmet with my cardo HD, after awhile I bought the jbl audio out of curiosity, I was already impressed with these. After hearing the jbl audio I eas even more impressed by these. I let several people here these and the jbl and they couldn't tell the difference. Audio is extremely important to me as I'm a musician, and I can barely tell the difference between the two, for the price these are crazy good, they fit great, and they're almost as good as the jbl for half the price. Would buy again

Bought these for my son's racing helmet. His car is not louder than a motorcycle but when it's on, he cannot hear, even at full volume. If the engine is off, he can here through the headphones. We even added the spacer so they're tight against his ear. Not nearly as loud as the description claims. Not good unless you just want to wear a helmet around for fun with no motors running.

One ride in and the sound is good. About the same as others I've had. A couple of things to know, the cord is short and the fit is not universal. On the cord, it seems to be designed for an existing helmet system and not as a stand-alone item. The plug barely makes it to a chinstrap D-ring and does not come with an extender. As far as the fitment, the self-adhesive Velcro discs and accompanying foam standoffs do not fit the standard recess in an AGV helmet, which is the only one I've tried so far. Easy enough to trim with scissors but it does reduce the Velcro contact patches.

I use these in my motorcycle helmet with a Bluetooth adapter and they sound great louder than I thought they'd be. Sound quality is great been using them for 3 months without issues.

Works well in ski helmet. You will want to make sure that your helmet is compatible with aftermarket speakers, not all of them are. Works in the motorcycle helmet too.Sounds is fair. Noting surprisingly good but they work. These are a little pricey.... I'd say they are on the line of being too expensive for a odd brand.
