The shut off capacity is very good, and the valve quality allows for an ease of use for adjusting from a trickle to a high speed flow. They fit perfectly to a standard hose connection.

Spent the summer with wet shoes, and frequent sprays to my face, wrasslin with a naughty garden hose, that always fought back when I tried to change sprinklers or sprayers without shutting off the water, by kinking the hose like any alpha male would.Whilst contemplating where I went wrong in life and waiting for my shoes to dry, I remembered I use to use a a shutoff valve on the end of the hose for this sort of thing, Problems was it was pot metal and plastic and the thing broke after 1 season. A quick look around in the old Amazon warehouse and I found this Brass Behemoth, solid, reasonably priced, mostly metal and with extra rubber washers. What was not to like? A quick trip to the grocery store to return all my empty beer bottles and I had enough coin of the realm, to purchase these and a corn dog.Well the corn dog was average, but hit the spot. The brass shutoffs, though were spectacular, my shoes are dry, the hose knows who's boss and I'm sitting pretty with all my yard watered where it needs to be.Life is good...maybe it could improve yours too?

I got tired of walking back-and-forth 100 feet (~30m) to the house faucet to change hose connections at the far end, without getting sprayed and wet. These valves permit turning off the water, at the far end, to comfortably add or remove other hoses or sprinklers. Also, in certain circumstances, it's nice to leave the hose pressurized in the hot sun to help unkink any kinks. These hose valves are brass, with a small handle (doesn't get in the way, doesn't get hooked on things). Water flow can be adjusted from OFF, through various dribbles and sort-of mist, up to a tight stream when fully ON (tighter focus than an open hose). Comes with four extra washers. Price was fair, but not cheap.

2nd review - 12/4/24 - Still working perfectly. No leaks and easy valve turn on and off. The item was delivered on time, as described on the site and as of this writing working properly, holding up as expected and without any issues. Solid brass body with brass "open-close" lever handle. Relatively easy, low pressure to operate the "open-close" lever. Three or four months without a problem. Good price for higher quality. Would probably purchase again if no real failures appear in the near future.

I bought these valves to go along with the quick connect hose attachments that I reviewed here just a moment ago.I bought 6 units of these valves ( I run quite a few watering hoses) and never had any problems and kept dry while using the many hoses. In fact I will be buying 2 or 3 more of these valves along with 2 or 3 more of the hose quick connect (reviewed just moments ago) for my neighbor as he was ranting and raving about these items. Then maybe I will get the one back that I lent him last June or July. Jasper, if you are reading this then you know what to do ! LOL

Useful to stop pressure when changing from a nozzle, sprinkler or power washer, etc. No plastic and seem like they’ll hold up well. A little stiff when new but mine broke-in after a few uses. No leaks hand tight. I don’t know if the ball valve reduces pressure or flow rate but I haven’t noticed any such effect. Not significant enough for me to do a volume / time test to check. 🙂. For the price they should meet most needs. If one has weak hands then a larger lever might help but I like the smaller size of these.
