Pay attention to polarity when installing diodes, transistors, and integrated circuits.
When installing the infrared emitting and receiving tubes, be careful not to install the reverse. The transparent color is the transmitting tube, and the black one is the receiving tube.
When the power is first applied, the relay will have a pull-in action, which is a normal circuit detection action.

Good test of using soldering logic and skills for through hole PCB boards. All components required where in the kit. IT DOES WORK. Pot does not seem to very sensitivity or duration of relay activation time. Given the lack of instructions or schematic suggest you make copy of pictures and text from Amazon listing.As would be expected given the price, the components are not of the highest quality; relay, connectors, etc.If looking for an IR sensor for a specific application I would suggest you pursue a different route. If want practical experience soldering, it is a good little challenge for a novice hobbyist.

Out of six kits two of them just do not work. I have two more to assemble. The last one had 1 wrong value resistor and the power leads were reversed. Overall, I wouldn't order these again. It's a crapshoot if they will work or not

Waste of time. I was almost done with the soldering and discovered that there is a component missing in the package.Update:I sent back the first delivery which missed a component. The replacement came in pretty quickly. This time, it is a complete package. Nothing got missed. I finished the soldering and finished the testing without issue. Good job, seller. I am still working on the adjustment of the sensor.

Do not waste you time. No directions, did not work. How do you trouble shoot this w/o even a clear description and / or directions?.

No instructions supplied with kit. Had to use web picture to determine which IR diode when where.
