What’s the ballasts?
- A ballast is a crucial part of a fluorescent or HID lighting system. Also does it provides enough voltage and current throughout operation and regulates the electrical current of the light once it is lit. Without a ballast, the bulb will consume too much power, causing it to burn out quickly-sometimes within a few minutes. The ballast can prevent this from happening and ensure that you benefit from the entire life of the bulb. Every ballast is designed to connect directly to your vehicle and requires NO programming or coding.
- The most common cause of HID Ballas failure is long term use, which can resulting in flickering, dipped beam not working or light failed. When have problems, you'd better replace it so that you can enjoy the real strengths of HID bulbs.
- The ballast is to help your lamp start up quickly. When the lamp is turned on, the ballast provides a surge of higher voltage to the lamp. This helps establish an arc between two electrodes on the lamp. After the electrode arc is established, the ballast reduces the voltage and regulates the electric current. This ensures the light produced is even and steady, without flickering or fading.

Somewhat of a pain to install (it mounts under the headlight housing) but it worked well, one I figured out the bulb wasn’t the issue.

I’ve order 2 of these now. The first one failed after a few months. The latest one was DOA. I didn’t get to install it right away so now I can’t return it. I finally gave in and order the OEM part. It’s to much hassle to change out if u have to do it every few months. OEM has a lifetime warranty.
