Had to return it. The locking pin is 10mm, my bike’s rotor holes are too small. Re-ordered a 6mm.

The lock is easy to use and works like advertised, although I can not hear it in side, when tested with a friend. But I keep the bike in an alcove to the door which is closed in on 3 sides and sounds plenty loud in there. I am sure it would send a thief running when the alarm goes off. I use it on an ebike.

Solid construction and loud alarm, but you need to get used to taking off and putting it on quickly in one solid motion or you'll set it off. My friends and I refer to it as the warrior princess (like the one from that show).

The box didn’t have any damage but the casing for the product was weird because it was easy to open. That type of packaging would be hard to open and requires me to cut it. I opened it, I read the manual, and the Xena Lock didn’t have a battery pull tab. I was supposed to pull it but there weren’t any. The lithium battery was unwrapped as well. As I put the battery in, it has this annoying screeching sound that won’t stop, which based on the manual, it should supposed to do that.

This product arrived 2 days later than stated - however I contacted seller and received a prompt reply with all the delivery details. On arrival packaged really well. Item seems of a high quality, small but sturdy and with a very loud alarm. Easy to read instructions and spare keys. Will definitely feel at bit more at ease with this attached to my bike.

Its' a tad too sensitive as it goes off when there's minimal vibration, like a car with loud sounds going by....but I guess that's what you would want if anyone were to attempt to touch your motorcycle. Compact & doesn't take up space, nor too heavy to carry in my saddle bag, a plus. I'd recommend it as a secondary lock (when parked outside of a hotel because you can hear the sound of the alarm), at distance, it's best to have a lock w/o the alarm. Otherwise, it's a heavy duty lock & definitely noticeable as a deterrent.

Xena disc lock is extremely well built and provides good protection for the motorcycle as it is quite sensitive to movement, not overly sensitive as I read in some reviews. Although it's expensive, but there's no price for peace of mind knowing your much more expensive motorcycle is safe with this disc lock.

Excuse my English as I'm not a native speaker.I received this lock today. Having read many reviews complaining about oversensitivity, I was very anxious that it would be too sensitive and harass my neighbors.Within an hour of setting the lock on my bike, I hear the alarm go off. I live about 200 ft from where the bike is parked and I could hear the alarm from my apartment. I can tell you, it's definitely loud enough. It's probably louder than my Audi's alarm system (which are notoriously quiet).I gasp and think someone walking by set it off and I'm fairly positive it's a false alarm. So I take the keys and I'm going thinking that I just can't leave it there or my neighbors will complain about it. Well, once I get there, I see my neighbor struggling with his bike who fell off because he was changing the front tire. He said he hit my scooter and it almost fell off but he caught it. He then proceeds to ask for my help to get him out of this sticky situation (bike on the fork, he can't pull it up). Anyways, the alarm saved him because he was stuck with his bike and if he released the bike to use his cellphone (to call for help), the bike would have fallen (probably over my bike).Beside the anecdote, this thing is heavy and looks decently built. The alarm is loud and for now doesn't seem to be oversensitive. I put it in the 6-o-clock position as indicated to set the sensitivity to a minimum.I will update my review in 6 months if anything comes up.

I like this a lot. My unit functions as advertised and does NOT go off if it is not on my brake rotor. It is very loud, although it is high pitched and does not carry well through obstructions. Fit and finish are great. For more sensitive operation, place it at the top of your rotor. For less sensitive operation, place it towards the bottom. I accidentally set this off in a parking lot when I set my backpack on my seat, so be careful about that.Edit: It seems like the alarm is extra sensitive when you first put it on after a week or more of not using it. I usually stomp around the wheel a little before walking away to make sure it isn't going to go off if someone just walks by.

I really like this alarm! I have been using a lock without an alarm for years. I recently bought a new motorcycle and was trying to figure out if I should install an alarm or get a disc lock with an alarm. It became clear after a lot of research that the disc lock with alarm was a much better way to go. I read some reviews with some negative feedback, but I have found that the suggestions by others addressed all of the issues but one, the problem of the alarm going off while driving/not on bike. I will review some of the negatives mentioned: The sensitivity: if you read the instructions it tells you how to address the sensitivity of the alarm based on how you align the lock (basically the more vertical the placement, the less sensitive it is). Volume: this alarm is plenty loud, even on noisy streets. However, do not set it off in your house, it is too loud for that environment. The person who commented on the alarm going off while riding: I think that is really a function of the way it is stored. Just do not depress the lock and then remove your key. Since it has to be near metal, this can only happen in a metal luggage case with the lock engaged. This is something that can be avoided by doing what I described. Finally, a great feature is that you can never drive off with your lock on, so there is no need for a tether. If you turn on your bike or move it in any way, the lock will let you know immediately. Buy this lock, it is great!

PROS:Fantastic, strong, hard-to-pick and hard-to-break lock. Well designed so it's actually pretty much impossible to damage the carbide-reinforced locking pin; it goes through the rotor, so you'd have to get through the rotor first and THEN get to the locking pin.The alarm is LOUD as hell!CONS:The alarm is so loud I can hear it when I go off while riding! There is no way to disable the alarm function while it is not installed to the rotor. It just goes off on its own. I've only had my unit a few weeks but I've already run the battery dead like this.Having said that, it's not like an audio alarm will do a great deal to deter a thief. It's this lock's other design features that will deter a thief. You'd need a team of THREE people to pick up a heavier bike like my '09 Vulcan Custom, and short of that there's no way to steal a bike with this installed.

This lock is perfect! It has just the right amount of sensitivity for the alarm. Once the alarm is set (which is easy to do) any movement will set off the alarm. It's also built like a rock! It's quite heavy and feels very solid. I tried a knock off alarm lock (US patrol pad lock) and was extremely disappointed when compared to this. I returned the cheap knock off and bought second one of these locks. I couldn't be happier, and feel more safe with this lock.
