It may have been a little overkill for what I used them for but due to the poor quality version that it was replacing, I couldn’t have been happier with them. They were used to replace a similar type device that’s used for the tarp drive motors on dump trucks. Had purchased enough of them to replace all of the units for our tucks as the original ones would fail.

I can't say how well the product works on whatever it's actuallymade to fit , but I can say that it's not even close to the components in the xbull 13k pound 4wd winch. I didn't learn this until taking mine apart to repair . I haven't been impressed with this brand so far .

Perfect replacement for a Smittybilt contactor (so far).Minus 3 stars because nothing is labeled on the actual unit, and zero instructions. If I have to scroll through the reviews to find out how to correctly wire this and not fry my battery or worse, you (XBull) are doing it wrong.Chuck in a decent set of instructions or at least mark the casing with positive, negative, 1 and 2 so it's not a bloody mess.

NO INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED: BAD IDEA!!! The image you have up doesn't reflect the contractor you are selling. Another reviewer had a simple, easy to understand diagram that worked FINE, and you took it down. Put that back up or use this one. I emailed the manufacturer for a diagram and they responded promptly but with a diagram that I couldn't understand (similar to the one amazon has up now). Product works fine after I figured out how to wire it. The diagram sent in by a prior reviewer worked great. I made a fancy copy of his. FOLLOW THIS DIAGRAM. IT WORKS. If for some reason your winch works reversed, switch the white and yellow wires coming from the controller.

This replaces the solenoid set in harbour freight winches. Works great. Is it "right" no clue but it worked for me.

Directions are poorly written. You have to know what your doing to decipher what you need to do to make this work. I bought this as a replacement for my badlands winch solenoid. This solenoid seems more rugged than the one that came with the winch.
