In terms of performance, this light fulfills its claims. Without a light meter, I cannot say with certainty how many lumens this puts out. Based on my perception, it is definitely more than 3000 lumens, which makes sense because it claims 5000 lumens. For water resistance, it is submersible, though I have not taken it to the depths of the ocean. Both ends feature anodized and greased threads and double o-rings. These offer great water resistance, and I would not want a diving light without them. The beam pattern is well-focused for a quad emitter. The deep smooth reflector brings all of them into a tight spot which I believe reaches a few hundred meters, while still offering a good amount of spill. The large form factor is great for outdoor and underwater use. The lack of cooling fins may be due to the assumption that this will be used underwater, since it does get warm when used in air.It does not have on-board charging, which I see as a good thing. A charging port would compromise the water resistance, especially at lower depths. Instead, they include a charger for the 26650 cells that power this light. They have a great power density and make great use of the space in this light. The charger is fairly decent, though it uses Micro-USB and has limited output. It will allow you to charge 16340, 18650, 26650, and 36650 cells. I feel like it could have been made a little longer, because 21700 cells are more popular than 36650 cells. Since neither of these two are used in this light, this is just a personal gripe with the charger, and has nothing to do with the light. My only problem with it is the switch. It has a long travel, which I measured to be 3.4 mm, and no tactile feedback until it bottoms out 1mm below the bezel. Combined with the switch being only 6.5mm in diameter, this may be difficult to operate with thicker gloves. Wurkkos has created better switches, like on the TS25 or their very popular FC11 (which I have on me everyday). The switches on these offer short travel, have a positive click when activated, have larger diameter, and even have back lighting. These lights can also be submerged in water, but probably not to the same depth. The switch on the DL40 may be restricted due to its intend use of diving.

Appearance and Build: 9/10The Wurkkos DL07 continues the simple yet effective design of their lights. The body of the light is built out of solid aluminum with a matte black anodized finished. In my experience their anodized finishes are durable and give a great feel in the hand far beyond what you would expect from a light of this price. The threads are cut cleanly with an adequate O-ring and are lubricated properly upon arrival for smooth tailcap removal. The included 26670 battery sits snug but you can still feel a tiny rattle if you shake hard enough. A clear glass lens covers the array of LEDs this light possesses.Function/Use: 10/10This is where this light truly shines in its own category different from any other dive light I’ve used. It’s as effective out of the water helping with video lighting as it is underwater.Cool white : (CREE XPL-HI 5300-5700K LED) at 1000 lumens is plenty of light to just walk around your car or coming up from the water after a dive. It’s a relatively cool white but still far from the cold blue that comes with lesser and more expensive dive lights.Neutral white : (LH351D 5000K 90CRI LED) you get two settings on the magnetic rotating switch for this light. 3000 lumen and 500 lumen outputs. This LED is where this light truly shines as a dive light especially for photography and videography. This allows colors to truly pop at a CRI (higher = better) of 90 for true to life colors on your videos and photos. 3000 lumens is plenty of light to illuminate directly in front of you. However since this light barely has a reflector it’s limited to up close and I’d say within 5 feet especially underwater.Red : niche use but if you know you’ll be needing some red light at some point it’s a perfect light to have the option. Or to preserve night vision if you ever need to.UV : some night life forms truly glow under UV light. This also helps if you’ve dropped something on the floor that’s small and reactive to UV light. Again niche but perfect for when you need it.Battery/Accessories: Wurkkos chargers and batteries are reliable and efficient. It doesn’t have the bells and whistles of a dedicated charger but perfectly adequate. Spare O right and ball; joint attachment for your camera ring are providedValue: 10/10It’s hard not to give any Wurkkos light anything other than a 10/10. With this light you’re essentially getting a 4 in 1 light with adequate functions in each category. For a dedicated video light it’d say it’s hard to beat if you’re not sure what setting or scenario you will encounter. This light has enough for you to bet relatively capable of dealing with whatever the ocean throws at you. Conclusion:Another homerun light from Wurkkos. Be warned that the lack of reflector really limits this light to up and close lighting. Don’t expect this to be cutting through meters of murky water to light your path because that’s not what this light was designed for. But if you’re looking for a dedicated underwater video light at a fraction of what the other big brands are peddling you’re in the right place.

The DL61 is where it's at If you're looking for a dive light with a rotary switch, and a familiar form factor to the old school maglights, this is it. As you can see from the photos it's actually a little smaller than a 2C cell maglight and easily twice as bright on low (with a 14hr run time). On Turbo mode this flashlight puts out approximately 7,000 lumens. That's approximately the same amount of light as three headlights on your car. And because of the active cooling that is provided by the water when it's used as a scuba light, it'll run at near max for almost an hour.Like similar dive lights, there is no onboard charging, but what you are treated with are double o rings on the body of the flashlight and two 5,000 mAh batteries which provide you with as much power as a medium sized power bank. The rotary switch which turns on the light and adjust the brightness is very simple to use, turn the ring to the right for more power until the very end and turn the ring to the left all the way to the very end to turn it off. The nice thing about a rotary switch is that you won't have to worry about accidentally turning on your light when you toss it into your bag, or as it rolls around the deck of your boat. The rotary switch is smooth with positive steps for every mode. This package comes with a light, batteries, a USB charger for the batteries, replacement or rings and a lanyard plus the manual as well. Seriously consider taking a look at this light if you need something bright, powerful and compact in a well thought out package.
