Wuhan cymbals instead give you quality with a price that won't empty your wallet. Generally, affordable cymbals are made of less-expensive sheet alloys, using short-cut manufacturing methods and finishing steps in order to keep the cost down. And with the resulting cymbals you pretty much get what you pay for. Wuhan cymbals are made of high-quality cast B20 alloy. They're handcrafted in China according to two-thousand-year-old traditional methods. They're buffed to a brilliant finish, and stamped with an unobtrusive but attractive logo.

I bought a whole set of Wuhan cymbals, and I have been utterly blown away by the quality of the sound. These hats have a lovely chick, excellent stick definition, and have the ability to be played open and rocky without being clangy. They're warm AND defined - truly great. Do yourself a favor, stop scrolling around, and pick these up. You will not be disappointed.

Unless you're a real professional in a recording studio making your living off drumming, you should get these. They really do sound like some zildjians. Great stick response too!

Before I had this pair of hats, I had a pair of Pearl hi-hats that a friend gave me. They sounded great but eventually started pealing and cracking. So after researching and listening to sound bites, I decided to get these. I've rated these 5 out of 5 because I really, truly enjoy the sound I get from them. Admittedly, it was an adjustment at first getting used to the new sound as opposed to the Pearl set I had before. But I like how the hats sound when closed. Nice response and "tick" sound. A quick open-close maneuver on them has a great sound and varies well between a softer and harder hit. But my favorite thing about these hats is the open sound. I love open hi-hats that have a good "kuh" sound to them when open and these have the sound that I love. Plus, they can take a beating and still sound great. After buying these and listening to other cymbals the company has made, I've seriously considered making wuhan my go to company for cymbals. They seriously have an unmatched quality to price ratio.

Again, Wuhan amazes me with their quality/price ratio in terms of defying the "you get what you pay for" axiom. Their "New Traditional" cymbals have to be the best kept secret in the industry since I do not know any other drummers in my area that play anything else from Wuhan's offerings other than Wuhan's "China" type. These hi hats have a great "chick" sound and also articulate equally well when played closed, semi-open or open. For a little over $100, you will get cast B20 alloy and a hand hammered pair of hi hats. Do yourself a favor and try these before you buy a pair from one of the "Big 3" companies that spend a fortune on marketing and celebrity endorsers. You will keep an extra $200 in your pocket for something else for your kit. You can thank me later.

I'm reviewing the second pair of hats I received, the first pair the hole in the bottom hat was drilled off center in the bell or the bell was misshapen I'm not sure which and they played and sounded horrible. I returned them for replacement, the second pair was like night and day, I've heard that there is a lot of variability in Wuhan cymbals, well if that's true I won the jackpot on this pair. They don't sound as good as say Sabian AAX's but you can't even buy B8's for this price and they sound and look much better than those. They have a great chick that cuts really well, a pretty nice tick that responds well to dynamics, a nice ringing open sound and my favorite, a great washy half-open or open-close sound, just all around a great sound for rock. I'll only use these for rock style sounds however, they aren't jazzy at all.I gave these 4 stars (solid 8 out of 10) since there are much better hats out there... but for the money I would give them 11.

Received the 14" wuhan hihats on time and was pleasantly surprised by the finish of these hats. They have a pleasant chic and seem to penetrate band noise without banging the crap out of them.I play in band doing bars etc and cover a lot of diferent styles and they seem to work with what i do without any problems. The bottom cymbal on its own sounds sweet as a crash and the top cymbal is suitable,i feel for hats only. They say that every cymbal is different so you can only assume that there could be some duds out there but i find these hats surprisingly good value for your hard earned buck and they sound good...my view anyway....doug
