I found a pair of these at a thrift store- some of the most comfortable every-day shorts I've ever owned. So I bought them on Amazon in two other colors.They're perfect- the waistband is flexible, the length is just right, the side pocket doesn't stand out very much, and they fit great without being boxy like typical cargo shorts (which, I'm pretty sure aren't in style now anyway.)These are perfect!

Perhaps this is a bit sad, but these are the only shorts I've worn for many years now. Lightweight. Never had a pair wear out. No stupid pocket covers that hang on drawers and such you get with cargo shorts. BUT, the Greatest feature, and this is very important to me, ZIPPERED pockets to protect your wallet or phone. On 3 and 4 week road trips, I eliminate the worry of losing my billfold. I carry my wallet in the zippered pocket in front. The comfort is amazing. My weight and waist have changed from 34 to 36, to 38. The 38s will be ok if you go up to 40. Tight, but fit. I now have 6 or 8 34s, 6 or 8 36s, and 8 or so 38s. Being in south Texas where wearing long pants is unthinkable, these shorts are a huge part of my life. BTW, washing drying is a breeze. Much less expensive than heavyweight shorts.

Fit well, nice fabric, cool, light weight and comfortable. Just wish I could find more shorts with zippered side pockets besides just on the leg and back.

These things are comfortable! Are they fashionable, no. Do they make you embody your inner dad, absolutely. I wear pretty much all vintage clothes, but for these bad boys I'll make an exception. They're just flat out enjoyable to wear. The additional pocket on the left leg with a zipper is also perfect for travel when you don't want to keep your wallet in your back pocket. I've bought two pairs!

After a couple of months with these shorts, I've decided that these are just about perfect for me. For the price, I've been extremely happy.I noticed several people complaining about the fit. The people complaining seem to be shorter and on the heavier side. If that describes you, these shorts are probably not going to work for you. I'm 5'11" 185 lbs, waist size 32, and these shorts reach the top of my knees.The pockets on these are excellent. I've never had anything fall out of my front pockets while I've been reclining in a Kayak, playing with the dog, or seated. The fly zipper is TAT branded. The zippers used on the pockets are no-name generic zippers, possibly also TAT. All zippers have worked smoothly. However, I wish wrangler would have used YKK zippers, I would feel more confident in their long-term durability.I ordered one pair of shorts in each color available. Tan, grey, dark drab green, and navy. I would say the colors are all as expected, and the colors have remained consistent through the several washings they have each had. IMO, the green pair looks the best, with subtle tan contrasting stitching. Every pair had a snap closure at the top of the fly, rather than a button. The snaps are all branded with the wrangler logo and have been robust and secure.These shorts have seven belt loops - hallelujah! Even with significant weight on my belt and the shorts wet from swimming, I never experienced any belt bite from the shorts folding between the belt loops.The material of these shorts has a grid pattern similar to rip-stop nylon. Since the shorts only stretch at the waist band, I would guess the fabric is that way to improve durability, although the tag says 100% polyester. I would say these shorts look premium and wouldn't be out of place alongside shorts from Columbia, Patagonia, or 5.11.The drying capability of these shorts is OK. I wouldn't say they dry as quickly as my Columbia hiking shorts, but they dry fairly quickly.Overall, these shorts are 99% perfect, and at a great price. I carry a leatherman tool and flashlight every day, and these shorts are great. I also frequently concealed carry when I am not working, and the belt loops on these are fantastic in their size, spacing, and support.

The shorts are super comfortable and have a nice clean lines that read more formal than they are. They stretch and or lightweight for being active as well.

These are a great pair of shorts and the size seems about run right on target. I'm a big guy, size 48 with chunky legs and the 48's (two pairs) both fit good. The fit is very comfortable, though the legs are a little snugger than I normally get. The material is a weird lightweight material that is very comfortable in hot weather. And so far I have seen no durability issues which is surprising since the fabric is so light, but time will tell. Update: Have had these for a while now and after wearing the various color versions I bought, I can say these are definitely worth the money and in fact am buying another pair today. As light as the material is they are surprisingly durable, don't shrink, colors don't fade and will completely clean off with a damp rag, within reason, if you spill something on them.

I recieved this order very quickly - thanks!I ordered two pairs of these shorts - one black and one carbonite. Both with a 38 waist.The carbonate pair fit like a dream with an acceptable quality and the amount of elasticity in the waist is generous. These are very comfortable with the fabric being pleasant on my skin - I am looking forward to wearing this pair any time.The black pair are made of a different fabric than the carbonate shorts, have nice fabric and acceptable quality. Where the black pair fall short (pun intended) is the waist band is virtually not elastic as described. They are slightly stretchy but only to a point.Had I known this - I would have bought the black pair in a 40 inch waist. They are tight on my waist.I'm not sure if the black shorts maker in Bangladesh ran out of elastic and just thought "I'm gonna make these have no elastic and then just make 'em tighter - nobody'll ever know."Anywho - the fabric is different which could contribute to lack of stretchiness in the black pair.Conclusion - I will keep in mind I can wear the Carbonate pair to a Buffet. But if I wear the black pair - the waist snap will be undone for the way home.
