did the job for brake lines.this is flare tool with a conical flare / taper flare. The originals were bubble flare. But the tool I had previous would not flare properly. So sent it back. The taper flares sealed ok and would therefore recommend this tool- its robust and easy and easier to understand how to use and clamp the line for flaring, Also once flared it has a clutch so you know when flare is complete

Great product and easy to use. Suggest using a little Lub to keep from scratching head. Overall use was, it did what was needed. The product performed as well as advertised. Will use again.

This was the cheapest for this type of flaring tool, as I only need it to flare a set of mini split lines. It worked great once I worked out all the casting sand with multiple WD40 flushed.

I'd never made a flare before using this tool. It was easy to use and did a great job making the flares. My first practice flare was a little short, so I adjusted how much the tube was sticking up and made perfect flares from then on out.My only complaint about the tool is it only fits in the case with the clamp and flaring tool screwed all the way in, which is the exact opposite of how the tool is configured when you are starting or finishing a flare, so you have to waste time screwing and unscrewing them at the start and finish of your work. It's a minor thing, but the kind of attention to detail that can make a tool stand out from the competition. No stars off for that, just a note for the case designers.

First - this is an eccentric flare tool.Second - it flares to 37 degreesThird - it has a clutch that will disengage when the correct flare has been reached. You can't overtighten. All that to say that if you make a nice square cut on the copper, debur well, and install with about 1mm above the flared area, you will get a very good flare.I've used it to install 2 mini splits with no leaks.I also used Nylog Gasket sealer on the flare - not on the threads. Just spend a few bucks for a bottle.***Don't forget to put the nut on the tube before flaring or you'll be doing a second flare. Ask how I know.

I made the mistake of borrowing out my tool box. Came back without half my flaring tool. This unit is as good as my Rigid Model 345 that currently cost around $140. It has the "Click" at the end, letting you know the flare is complete. I've only used it twice, but it's easy to see the quality of this is as good as Rigid and it'll last.
