About this item

  • QUICK-START 40V POWER: Cordless lawn mower delivers robust 40V power with (2) 20V 4.0Ah batteries, ideal for cutting up to 1/8 acre. Starts fast—simply push a button and pull the bail handle. Quickly charge both batteries with included dual charger.
  • SAME BATTERY, EXPANDABLE POWER: The same PowerShare batteries that run this push lawn mower can conveniently be used with 140+ power tools, outdoor power equipment, and lifestyle products from the WORX PowerShare platform.
  • INTELLICUT: Patented sensor technology automatically adjusts cutting speed to match the grass conditions. Intellicut increases cutting speed when it detects dense grass for smoother mowing, but slows down in less demanding turf to save on battery.
  • COMPACT & LIGHTWEIGHT: At only 35 lbs., this lightweight lawn mower is easy to push up hills. The compact body is ideal for narrower pathways. The fully collapsible handle saves storage space and the easy-carry handle ensures smooth portability.
  • 7-POSITION CUTTING HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT: Single lever rapidly raises and lowers the cutting deck from 1.5" to 4" so your cordless push mower is always cutting at the ideal height for your lawn.
  • QUIET MOWING: Skip the noise of gas and embrace the quieter operation of a battery powered lawn mower. With a low 89-decibel level, it cuts strong but stays quiet to be easier on your ears—and more peaceful for your neighbors.
  • 2-IN-1 BAGGING/MULCHING: Choose the way you cut with your cordless mower. Use the included mulch plug to nourish your lawn with fresh clippings or bag it up in the 1.2-bushel collection bag. The full-bag indicator lets you know when to empty.
  • CHARGE-LEVEL INDICATOR: Designed to optimize the electric lawn mower cordless power, the onboard battery indicator quickly updates you on the charge status so you'll know when it's a good time to recharge.
  • INCLUDES: 40V 17" cordless lawn mower, (1) collection bag, (1) mulch plug, (2) 4.0Ah batteries, (1) dual charger.

Mow small yards with boosted power using the WORX 40V 17" cordless lawn mower. Engineered for optimal performance, this battery-powered mower is ideal for lawns up to 1/8 acres—all without the costs and hassles of gas.
The mower runs on (2) included 20V 4.0Ah PowerShare batteries, which can be quickly recharged with the included dual charger. These same batteries are compatible with 140+ power tools, outdoor power equipment, and lifestyle products that are part of the WORX PowerShare platform, so you can get even more convenient use out of your power.
With Intellicut technology, this cordless push mower automatically adjusts the cutting speed to fit the grass conditions. It will increase cutting speed under dense, tall grass to maintain smooth cutting efficiency. But when the grass conditions are less demanding, it decreases to help conserve battery power and extend runtime.
On top of consistently robust performance, this compact and lightweight lawn mower is designed for greater comfort and control. At a competitive weight of just 35 lbs., it allows for effortless pushing and transport. Its slim body and 17" cutting deck also make it easy to maneuver in tight spaces commonly found in smaller yards. And with a fully collapsible handle, you can streamline storage to save space. For added convenience, the mower features a 7-position one-touch height adjustment lever to easily adapt cutting height from 1.5" to 4" without the hassle of multiple levers.
Worried about battery charge? The onboard charge indicator provides a quick update on remaining power so you always know when to recharge. This battery-powered lawn mower runs much quieter than gas alternative at only 89dB—a level that's much more peaceful for you and the neighborhood. Cut the way you want with 2-in-1 mulching/bagging—use the mulch plug to leave clippings on your grass as natural nourishment or use the collection bag to simplify cleanup.

My first impression when I took it out of the box was " fisher price"! It is half the size of a regular gas mower, 1/4 the weight, and very impressive power for what it is. I mowed all my lawn, that takes 40 mins to mow, and the battery only dropped 30%. It surprised me! I love it, and not going back to gas!

This battery mower worked great for my backyard that's about 1000 Sq Ft. When I was done mowing I had about 60% battery still remaining. It collects grass clippings well and I only had to empty the bag 2 times. I got the 17" model because it was almost the same price as the 14". This mower is lightweight and easy to maneuver. The batteries took less time to charge than some other reviews mentioned. For the price, you can't beat this mower. Time will tell as far as how long this mower lasts. You should make sure your grass is dry because it doesn't collect wet grass clippings well. The battery compartment lid was cracked upon arrival so I contacted WORX customer service for a replacement however they advised me to get a replacement from Amazon. I am waiting for the replacement to see if it arrives undamaged. This is the only reason why this mower gets 4 stars instead of 5.

We already have a collection of Worx products from a 19" lawnmower, 2 blowers, hedge trimmer, small chainsaw and even a battery operated sprayer so the main reason to buy it was that all the batteries are compatible. The quality of the lawnmower is great which was a pleasant surprise. The ease of adjustments from height to handle adjustment makes this mower very convenient.

Only 2 complaints...1) I still have to cut the grass myself and 2) its not free.... But seriously, this is one impressive little devil. In about 20 minutes-I mowed down 3 separate sections of my property, and the grass was pretty high, since my gas mower croaked, despite my every effort to clean the carb, spark plug etc. I'm not new to the game, I've had several properties over the years, many gas mowers and was a little reluctant to go down the electric road. I will never go back, not after this. it's early on, but I barely dented the charge in these lithiums (5 Amp versions came with it)-one LED light down after cutting all these areas. The deck is deep underneath-so grass doesn't get bolloxed up inside at all, its a metal deck. Quieter than the vacuum cleaners in the house, amazing. Feels substantial, nice solid handgrip, and controls are simple, easy to see and it Worx! Interesting fact not in the manual (which is barely enough to understand fortunately the mower is pretty self-explanatory at least to me)...when I started out, the motor didn't sound very powerful-as if the batteries were not charged-but it cut pretty effortlessly so it was up to the task even at lower revs. But as soon as hit some higher, thicker grass-3-5 inches tall, the motor revved up and bingo, grass was gone. A good power-saving feature. I did need to set the deck to its lowest setting, which is better because I probably have been cutting my grass too short with the gas mowers and here in PA the higher blade setting kept me off all the rocks everywhere.Just a few other comments-would I use this professionally for daily use-not sure this would take a repeated beating like some heavier duty machines gas or electric, but for my strictly home maintenance use, it sure beats the gas mower-is lighter, and the self-propelled feature works well so far. i was using a high-wheel self-propelled gas mower. I think I'd stick with that for heavier work but my yard is fairly level.lastly-the cost of lithium cells-I don't know if Worx is getting their cells from China like many now are, but all these "clone" packs that are described as "for" Worx machines, or all the other brands-right here on Amazon...it has been my experience that Chinese manufacturers are slipping us a "mickey"-using either used cells, defective cells or even smaller cells in larger casings-to pad out the size, but will have less capacity-I have 14500 "3.7V AA size cells that put out less than 1000mAh rather than the 4000-5000mAh true 18650's should be. Not hard to put these in an 18650 sleeve. maybe these Chinese cells are OK, but with the experiences I've already had with many "replacement" laptop computer batteries, I am pretty convinced this is the business model. You are not going to get a pair of 5 Amp 20V batteries for 40-50 dollars, unless I am mistaken. Might be the right voltage, but I doubt if you will get the specified amperage out, and of course not much usable time out of the battery. It looks like such a good idea, but penny-wise and pound-foolish. and this is given the cheap pack doesn't downright explode or catch on fire. Its called "thermal runaway". Not what you want with lithium packs. Might as well stick a hand grenade in there.

UPDATE: 29March2023Well I’ve had two cuts so far this spring & I’m even more impressed. Lawn was dry both times; I cut about an inch off for the first cut of the year; raised the mower up to 4” for the second cut. Cut the entire lawn (mulched) both times with a runtime of about 40 minutes on each cut & still had some juice left in the batteries (one light was on when pressing battery power meter buttons). Impressed me!!After each cut, I recharged the batteries to a full charge in about 2hrs. Pretty darn good.I was so pleased, I just ordered a worx weed wacker on the same 40V battery shared platform!! No need for more batteries or chargers.Original review:Very lightweight. Surprised it worked so well! Nice build by Worx!! Of course, very quiet & EZ to push even on my inclines & sloped yard.I have about 6,000 sq ft yard. (Total lot - sq ft of house, driveway, sidewalks).Charged batteries full, gave it a go. Had 4” of grass, wet from prior day’s rain. Even in mulch mode, it chomped thru the cut effortlessly. But… due to mulching 2” of wet grass, batteries fizzled after 20min. I didn’t have to use turbo mode. Regular eco mode worked fine.I charged batteties again & finished the job the next day. I bought the WG743 17” cut model. Anything with a smaller cut is silly. It finished up the job easily (grass was drier) and it did an amazingly even cut. For a small yard, it does the job well. Worked very good on drier grass. I didn’t try the bag; only mulched. Mulching is healthier for lawn. This was the last cut before winter so I cut 2” off to a height of 2” and it did a great job !!!
