Might be user error, but my roller fell off this on my 3rd pass on my first use. Seems like it doesn't hold sturdy when loaded with paint. Uncommon for wooster products.

Roller frame twisted within first 20 minutes of usage on vaulted ceiling. Once the frame twists the roller is skewed to your rolling surface making it impossible to roll. Red tabs are exceptionally hard to operate, requiring a screwdriver to pry with the risk of breaking the tabs. Impossible to operate the red tabs for adjusting the length of the cage without a pry tool. Most competing 18 inch frames have square or rectangular support bars that would not be prone to twisting and moving like these round bars.I know engineers don't think "thumb screws" are cool...but in this case, this product was engineered to a point of being pretty, but non functional.Luckily I had also purchased a Rolling Dog frame which worked flawlessly for the rest of the very large vaulted ceiling and the rest of the painting project.Save your frustration and buy something that does not have round frame bars..

After using this roller frame and 18” paint rollers, I’ll never go back to standard rollers. You can paint a room so much more quickly and easily - especially if you buy good roller covers. This unit is rock solid. Cleanup is a bit of a nuisance, but that just may be me. Having said that, paint build-up doesn’t affect the use or adjustment of the frame. Grab one of these - they are awesome!

I've been a painter for a long time, so tried pretty much every 18" frame out there. This one is pretty good, the Sherlock GT quick release system is a must-have for any pro in my opinion (also requires Sherlock GT extension poles). So nice to just quickly clip things to the pole instead of threading them on/off every time, and the poles come with little adapters so any acme threaded tool can clip onto the pole. But next time I buy a frame, I'll be going back to the normal Wooster "wideboy" frame with wingnuts instead of this one with the red tabs. They work the same, but over time the plastic jaws holding the arms can get loose, which can result in your roller slipping off of the frame and making a big SPLAT on the ground (hopefully on a drop cloth). In order to avoid that, you have to give the frame a little tug test before using it, and make sure the jaws are actually clamping down tight enough that the arms won't move. If you can move them in/out even when it's supposed to be locked with the red tabs, then you need to tighten the large plastic nuts on the under side of the jaws. The same can happen with the normal wideboy, but it's less likely with the wingnuts. It started happening pretty quickly with this one, after using it for only about 2 or 3 months. But at least with this one you can re-tighten it. Not always the case with other frames, so you just have to trash them.Overall not bad, just don't ignore it when it starts feeling loose.

Im totally invested in the Sherlock system and love it, but the red quick release on this new one sucks. Used it 3 times, and the roller has fallen off twice, once scratching a ceiling on the final coat. I've fiddled with the tension of the tabs but think I might see if I can just replace them with wing nuts like the old one.

This was good to use... But after a while of use it comes lose and the roller fell off a few times. Other than that it's ok.

This thing knocks out a ceiling quick. It was a little cumbersome for walls. For some reason we found it easier to control when just going back and forth over your head than up and down on a wall. The accessories are a little hard to find to. We could find the 18” paint tray at the big boxes but could never find liners for it.

These are probably my favorite 18 inch frames for the price. I use these for epoxy floor installations, as long as they're reasonably kept clean like anything else they work good. The only con is you have to be a bit cautious when opening the red tabs with say a screwdriver because they can very easily break and there goes your $20 roller frame.

Painted an entire room in 20 minutes. Please note that if you are a newbie like me, you need to make sure to purchase 'roller frame end caps' with this.

Initial thoughts are good. Unit is sturdy and appears to lock in place very nicely.
