I got this one so that I could work on larger items and still have a place to keep the wool I am using. The pad is much softer than the first bad I got. I have not used it much, but it seems like it won't let me break needles like I do. I like both pads I have, but this Wool Buddy is quickly becoming the go-to for size and softness.

Really sturdy and easy to use. Does the job well especially when using a cloth over it to minimise wool transfer. Very happy with it

These mats are brilliant. A lot better than foam ones. They last longer easy to clean wool off. They keep there shape.

I am extremely satisfied with my Woolbuddy 10" needle felting mat!I haven't really had much issue with the mat felting into the wool that I am felting. Maybe it's because I'm using shorter needles or not going all the way through? I rotate a lot as well.Either way, I don't have any issues with it and have enjoyed it thus far. It feels amazing to the touch and is amazing with results!I did have an issue when it first came in the mail, but is was due to shipping and handling involving some dust-like stuff that surprisingly was not really on the felting mat and was not of their doing (it was Amazon's!)I contacted the seller (Woolbuddy Co.) and they were exceptional. Very fast response and kept me updated all along the way. I cannot recommend them or the mats any more than I do now!You will be satisfied 100%! They care about their consumers and put out quality felting mats! I greatly appreciate them!

So far, seems durable. Good size and firmeness. Better than some of the cheaper pads that Ive worn out that had flimsy foam inside, this one , whatever the filler is, works great! Mine matched the color depicted.

It came fast and I love the how I can felt with confidence with it. The dense padding is stiff enough to give little shifting and resistance therefore allowing the poking to shape the art piece and not distort the shaping. I love this pad and might get a another soon for a backup. Worth every penny.

I'm not crazy about the felting but but I love the results and it does have a relaxing benefit... I'm just not super patient lol... when I do felt, I notice I feel I am always in need of a new foam thingy, they get really soft where you use them alot, like in the middle, mine does anyways, and this hasn't been mis shapen at all! I made the most adorable mushrooms for spring time to go on my decor shelf and a big Luna moth that took literally ten hours and this thing was awesome.I was sorta worried I would poke right through with my hand needle and jab myself but I didn't. Not only is the inch and half plenty thick enough but it's dense, that's the important thing. It's easy to hold on your lap and watch TV while doing it or whatever. I really like this little mat and it'll definitely save money in the long run.... Oh and I'm super happy I got the big one. I like larger projects and it's nice to have the space to move around the mat as I need to!

Excellent quality, great size and generally awesome. Much much better than foam mats, it doesn't come apart or lose density. Highly recommended bit of kit for needle felters.

This works well for needle felting. It sheds a fiber here and there, but I think it is just because it it still new and getting broken in, nothing like the foam mats that just disintegrate. I mostly use it on my lap (the XL one) and it is good to know that it is somewhat flexible for lapwork. Probably the smaller one would have worked better for that or if you use a stiff surface under it, but I wanted a big one. Works well and your item won't stick too much unless you are really aggressive and don't turn it. It has held up so far and you can clean it pretty easily by just pulling or rubbing any wool left behind.

I am a beginning felter and I tend to learn by trial and error rather than viewing online tutorials as I should. I purchased the brush type felting pad, a foam one and the Wool Buddy. I hated the brush type immediately, it seemed wobbly and insecure. The foam type was OK but I didn't like the feel or sound of the needle going in and I knew it couldn't last long. Then I tried the Wool Buddy, XL size. I loved the size, the thickness and the feel of it. It felt secure, it felt steady and no matter how much I punched there were no holes or wear that I could see. My only problem was MY OWN FAULT!. I was making a felted leaf, first time I tried it. Of course, a leaf is a flat piece. I needled away and loved the result. Went to pull up the leaf and it was FIRMLY attached to the Wool Buddy. I ruined one side of the WB pulling and scraping the leaf out of it. I didn't want to give up on the WB because I loved everything else about it. So... I did what I should have, watched a few tutorials and got some good tips and realized I was a felting idiot but one with hope. I started again on the remaining good side of the WB. I cut some squares of tulle netting a little larger than the size of the leaf I wanted to make. I put one piece of tulle on the WB, laid out my wool fibers and put another piece of tulle on top, a felting sandwich of sorts. I started needling but every minute or so, I pulled the leaf all the way off the WB and flipped it over. If the tulle got too many holes, I replaced it. The tulle and the frequent flipping worked like a charm. The leaf pulled away perfectly from both the tulle and the WB leaf. Use the WB right and you will love it! All I have to do now is avoid the ugly side I ruined!
