During our comprehensive skincare consultations, this is such a great tool to educate patients and further assess the aspects of their skin that cannot be seen with a naked eye.

The instructions are clear and easy to follow. This is a very simple unit to use, and it works great! The battery lasts for a long time, and it is super bright.

I got the Diosole woods lamp because I foster kittens for a local animal shelter. The kittens frequently come into the shelter with undiagnosed ringworm. I can detect and treat it early by using the woods lamp to look for fluorescence. The Diosole woods lamp is plenty bright and magnifies the subject. I do find the on/off button to be a little hinky. It sometimes sticks.

So what IS 365 nm wavelength UV light? Well, there are many flashlights available these days that produce 365 nm UV light. There are many that produce 395 nm light. And there are even some flashlights that produce BOTH 365 nm and 395 nm UV light. The main difference is that the 395 nm LED emits much more visible light than the 365 nm LED. The 395 nm LED emits a pronounced violet-colored light, while the 365 nm LED emits a dull, bluish-white light (the result of residual light energy that "tails" off into the visible spectrum). Both types emit in the UV-A wavelength range and are generally capable of producing "blacklight" or curing effects.Basically, virtually all of the light energy from 365 nm is within the invisible UV-A range only, which maximizes the amount of UV-A energy compared to visible light energy and is preferred for most UV-A applications. The 395 nm LED emits strongest at 395 nm (as defined by the term peak wavelength), but it also emits quite a bit of energy at 400 nm, and even 410 nm. These wavelengths are solidly in the visible, violet portion of the spectrum.Anyway, that's all kind of hard to explain in text. But I hope that what I put explains all of that at least a little bit. But regardless of that, this wood's lamp magnifying epidermis analyzer seems to be very well made, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is considering getting it. However, if the price is a bit much for you, then look for a flashlight that produces 365 nm UV light, or one that produces both 365 nm and 395 nm UV light. Because I've seen those out here on Amazon from anywhere between $10-$20 or so. Just make sure and get one that says it's light is "zoomable." You will be glad that you did.

This year, we have seen a lot of tick activity in our area, and they seem particularly attracted to our dog. Unfortunately, because of his black fur, it can be incredible difficult to see them. With this tool, we are able to thoroughly inspect him after spending outdoors. The magnification is just the right amount to see the ticks on his fur or skin, and the black light will cause the ticks to fluoresce slightly, making them easier to see, and with the attached shade, we can even inspect him in the daylight. All in all, this is a pretty good buy.

We have a couple dogs and cats with long fur. This answered questions we had about some of the questionable things one dog had brought in on his coat after a productive day rolling around outside. I think the main thing I'd like to see for this product is for the light to be brighter. It's hard to see unless you drag your dog into a dark bathroom and that's not always an option. But if you live in an area with ticks and creepy crawlies it's reassuring to have on hand to keep your dog pest free!

I'm sure our Vet already has one of these, but she also has a mobile Vet service. She enjoys getting out of the office a few days a week, and taking her RV to see her patients wherever they are. This is a great service for many. But, it requires a lot of various machines/devices.I am going to give this Yekavo Woods Lamp Magnifying Epidermis Analyzer to her to use in her mobile Vet business. The Vekavo analyzer light really does "shed light" on various skin problems. However, one must have the medical training necessary to interpret what they are seeing. So, for me, this isn't particularly useful. Nevertheless, I'm sure she will be happy to use it. :*)
